I am dissapointed. I love Blizzard there a great company.
Now I am not a hardcore Diablo fan so that my be why I am dissapointed.
They are just playing it to safe with keeping the same old formula. The game is obviously using the same engine that Starcraft 2 will use. Which graphically isnt that amazing.
Of course that will alow many fans of this game be able to play it without having to get a new rig which is a good thing I guess.

I just want some more innovation from blizzard because we know that can do it.
They created these games when they were innovative plus WoW.

Blizzard has never led the way as far as graphical ahcievements go. The max resolutions have always been lower than other games at the time of release. This allows more people to play the games. The cutscenes, however, were always fantastic.

How do we know there are five classes by the way?

In any case I think Paladin, Necro, Barbarian, Sorceress and Witchdoctor would be my preferred lineup of five classes.

Watch the 19-minute gameplay preview on gamevideos or gametrailers. Blizzard guy says 5 classes.

That's why I listed 5. However, according to the creator of the Dii.net fansite (a reliable source in my experience), the dev at that Blizzard WWI said that there may or may not be 5 classes - they have not yet fixed a number, so we'll see.

That's fair. They will have to set a few aside for the inevitable expansion, too.

@everyone who comented on my post

Yes I understand that Blizzard isnt about graphics, I even acknowledged that this is actually a good thing in my post. So more people will be able to play it.

I kind of like this because it will allow me to be able to get starcraft 2 without having to get a new comp.

Once again my dissapointment is mostly because I am not a huge fan of the diablo games. Not that I have ever really given them a fair chance. I have only played them at friends houses. There was just so much they could of done with diablo but let the fans have there game. Thats what I would want if a game i love alot was coming out with another game.

I hope some spin off of the diable franchise will be made but knowing blizzard if that ever does happen it will be in a long long time.

So what could they have done more with Diablo? Diablo II is still praised as the best Action/RPG ever. Have you seen some of the changes made for Diablo III? They're amazing, and will improve the gameplay and pacing even more.

By the way, Diablo Battlechest is at 12nd place at Amazon's Videogame bestsellers, just above Mario Galaxy and MGS4.

haha those sneaky bastards! Anyone noticed this? After the announcement of Diablo 3, they put a big ad of Titan Quest on Steam's home page, and now TQ is now on top10, at 7th.

Diablo hype is HUGE.

why do you feel the need to whine about a game in a franchise you barely know anything about, and have barely played?  Like, why even bother posting?  Why did you feel the need to share your posts with us?

why?

PDF: why would you worry about the quality of a Blizzard game?

^^Is this not a games forum where people come to share thier opinions.

I don't care if it's a game forum, and your commenting about a game.  No one cares about your opinion if you've never owned the game and don't care much about the franchise.  You're just bitching for the sake of it.  Why bother?

Why?

bitching is fun?

Jesus...

Just re-bought Diablo 2....

*Please Please keep the Necromancer

I'm probably one of the few people on this board that aren't stoked by this. At all.

Yes, I still have both Diablos, and the LoD expansion pack to D2. I played Diablo 2 for roughly a year - getting one character to hell and beating the game once with some others (plus the countless ones I screwed up for subpar skill point placement).

Diablo 2 is great at what it does: Its skill customization options, random maps, sufficient storyline, and streamlined gameplay are still causing widespread wrist trauma worldwide. Diablo 2 is great for anyone who likes online games, doesn't hate RPG aspects in gaming and wants something a cut above your generic console maim-a-thon.

But to me, that's all. And eventually, it's no longer enough.

I was running with one of my Barbs through the third part of the second difficulty level (can't remember the name anymore) - I think it was the jungle section - wasting a bunch of midgets when I stopped and asked myself: "Why am I still playing this?" And I had no answer, except to get better loot. That's what the game had been reduced to - grinding. There's no storyline development after you kill Baal, no new quests or levels are opened (except the Cow level), no new skills or character classes become available. Once you beat the game, there's only grinding for more levels and better gear. I can tolerate grinding if there's a sufficient reward in the end, but grinding for the sake of grinding is just boring. And when the game has nothing else to offer, why bother playing?

After that, I closed the game, deleted it, and despite several tries with different characters and skill configurations have never been able to bother finishing the first difficulty level since.

Nevertheless, I'll probably still buy this eventually from a bargain bin or borrow it from someone. If D3 has something else to offer me besides grinding after the first run-through, great. If not, then the Diablo series will most likely be dead to me.
