Forums - Sony - Getting ps1/2 saves onto ps3

so pretty much as the title says, how do I get my ps1/2 saves onto my ps3 hard drive without spending $15 on a one time use purchase of an adapter at Best Buy?  The ps2 won't recognize a usb drive to transfer saves onto even though people have put game saves up ont the internet and I assume the only way to use them would be a usb drive, does it not work both ways and how did they get the saves onto their computer to upload to the internet in the first place?

it is impossible unless you feel like searching the internet for game saves that work with the PS3.

Its possible. I have done it. Not telling how though, because that would be helpful.

Edit: Just get the adaptor. :)

Tease.

the mem card adapter is well worth the money imo. using the ps3 to manage your save files is great as my ps2 card is usually full so backing up old saves onto my ps3 allows me to free up room for new save files.

yeah, gotta get the adapter, if you're running on empty you can always get it then take it back, maybe exchange it in part for another controller or game, etc, so you don't feel so guilty ;)

it pissed me off though that you basically had to spend $15 on something that may as well be thrown away once used, i just borrowed a buddy's that had gotten a ps3 before me.

Trading it back in the same day could make it a ~$7 one day purchase
