Bundled games count huh? Can we add solitaire and minesweeper to the chart?

Minesweeper and solitaire are as much games as anything else. But they are essentially freeware.

Wii Sports is clearly value added, and probably a good reason people don't complain so much about the Wii's $250 price tag. You'd have to discount any game bundled. I don't think the Sony or MGS fans would be happy with that.

As for minesweeper. I'll have nobody talking shit about this game. The amount of replay value in minesweeper offers is ridiculous. The active "pros" play anywhere from 4-8 hours a day every day. I'm no pro (almost though) and I play at least an hour a day. I've been playing for 3 years. It is up there with tetris as far as classics go.

Minesweeper is such a classic game. I personally love the story and ingame cutscenes.

We've been over this many times before. Dozens of games for all consoles are always bundled in every generation. Publishers count them as "sold" games, so there's no reason not to do so here.

If Wii Sports bothers you so much, just subtract it from the weekly totals. End of story.

Vgchartz doesn't even track PC games. Bundled games should be counted because the companies themselves count them.

Seriously though, isn't it unfair to count game bundles as part of the "software sold" since its given away for free? It kinda skews the data a bit and if you don't count all games - like the Xbox360 arcade disk it can never be seen as representative. I don't just mean Wii bundles, there have been quite a few games bundled by Microsoft and Sony as well.

Ok this is probably one of the most ridiculous thing of a million ridiculous things I have read on this website. When you buy a PC are you buying it to play Solitaire and Minesweep. I am not even aware those things are on the last PCs I bought. But you buy Wii to play games and are well aware of Wii Sports.

It might be considered slightly unfair to count some games if it is something like Petz that is bundled at no extra cost and which no one would buy otherwise. But as sales of Wii Sports in Japan show the game is a major system seller. In fact many Wii critics say Wii is simply a Wii Sports player and most people only use it to play Wii Sports. Then with the other side of their mouth they turn around to say its sales shouldn't be counted. And bear in mind Wii is more expensive in Europe and Americas because it comes with Wii Sports. So it's not even like the game is free.
