gow>dmc>ng

lets analyze that for a sec.

:

1. PS exclusive

2. Multiplatform

3. 360 exclusive...

hmm, bias?

 NG - xbox exclusive

NGS - Ps3 Exclusive

NG2 - 360 Exclusive.

I think he was talking about the franchise and not about your silly claim

"I think he was talking about the franchise and not about your silly claim"

Make bullsh** excuses all you want.

He is bashing NG because NG2 is exclusive.

LOL OKAY!

now im gonna keep an eye on sales of this games and GoW 3 cus it was unfair to put a last gen game versus a next gen , but of course GoW is a goodly game and NG is only a button smasher.

1- This thread isn't about sales.

2- You are wrong and you don't know what a button masher is.

NG actually is only a button masher, not in the sense that you can play through it just mashing the buttons, but in the sense that it don't have anything else than the fighting--> Button mashing.

In that case, the only games which aren't button mashing are Wii games (where you also do controller waggling and controller pointing).

For example, Super Mario Bros is just button mashing, since there's nothing more than running and jumping.

I don't know about DMC, but next to Ninja Gaiden, God of War is an easier and much slower game. If you prefer puzzles and story to gameplay, you'll probably have the opposite opinion though.

Nothing comes close to Ninja Gaiden in terms of combat system, that's for sure.

GOW slower, didn't feel like that to me (because i kept dying in Ninja Gaiden). But God of war 2 is fast paced, it felt like that to me. And Ninja Gaiden is definetly harder. But God of War can be hard as well, especially at Titan mode.

I didn't mean the pace of the game, I meant the action itself.

Maybe God of War is hard in the hardest difficulty, but NG is already hard in the normal difficulty (or for the regular gamer, even in the lowest one). There's no doubt that NG is a much harder game.

True, NG is harder even in easy mode. Those fucking ghost piranha fish in NG 1 on xbox still piss me off this day. But I like GOW better, like NG as well, i'm just not that hardcore. And i like GOW better cuz of greek mythology, have some books about at home and it always amazed me, with its stories as well. God of War has the same story feel to it for me. Sorry but NG story sucks ass. Gameplay is exciting and challenging (spelled right :P).

I own DMC4 on PS3(traded it in), ninja gaiden on my original xbox and god of war 2 for my backward compatible PS3.ninja gaiden was my least favourite hack and slash between the three.but still one of the top ones compared to say genma onimusha for my xbox.

in fighting mechanism ninja gaiden 2>god of war 2>ninja gaiden>devil may cry 4

In music/graphics/story/camera God of war 2>devil may cry 4>>>>>>>>>>>>ninja gaiden 2>ninja gaiden

ninja gaiden gets boring/frustrating due to its unforgiving difficulty and nonexistence story line,,,,you really don't have much motivation to finish the game.

ninja gaiden is my only game that I didn't finish on my original xbox(played up to chapter 12).I noticed that I was just getting angry /frustrated instead of having fun with the game.

my pick is god of war 2 .I love the thinking part/puzzles and the story line in god of war.and ripping a person in to two parts with your hand is also fun ;).

the god of war franchise is the reason I went with PS3 after my xbox.when I saw the ads for god of war 1 & 2 on TV I really regretted buying xbox over PS2,,, I knew I had to play the game,,I played it on PS3 and it exceeded my expectations.

Again this is rather personal choice not a general rule,,,Some people might enjoy what I found frustrating in ninja gaiden.

The graphics in NG2 are far better than the graphics in DMC4 or GoW2.

NG is a hardcore game. It is very difficult. The storyline, to me, is along the line of DMC4. Nothing special really.

You should finish Ninja Gaiden, lol. It's a masterpiece.

God of Ware 2 is a puzzle game. If you love puzzles, especially block puzzles, you'll love it, lol. The story is also good.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Some people can't handle a hard game.
They like simple games like GoW and DMC.

Yeah, the story sucks, I always said so. Ninja Gaiden is one of the series where the story is only there to glue the levels together, and that's fine by me. Same thing for Super Mario Galaxy ;)

I must say this thread has seen it share of trolling. I don't say NG2 sucks, beause it doesn't. But it's quite stupid to bash a game like GOW ( a darn good game indeed) and say it sucks just because you think NG2 is better. One thing i wondered was what ZenfoldorVGI said:I want a few things. Difficulty, depth, and boss battles. Have you played GOW2 and cranked up the difficulty? Really, do that. GOW2 has all of those features you said. Mediocre action elements? Dude, again...Really? Play some games would you. I Have been playing games from the nes period and i hate easy games, they give no challenge what so ever.

Trust me when I say that in all likelyhood I've played 100 times the amount of videogames you have, but lets drop that, it's personal and unimportant.

"Amount" of games doesn't matter as much as taste in games.

I've said it many times, GoW is, imo, the most over-rated series in gaming.

Instead of doing any particular thing well, it focuses more on production values and storyline. If you took Dante and put him in GoW, it would be the worst DMC game yet.

Here are my issues with the game:

A. The bosses are killed via mini-game where you press the corresponding button to what appears on screen. Most of the interesting fighs are like this. These types of mini-game are some of the worst in gaming, and amount to the in class mini-games in Bully. If you strip away everything else, this is bad gameplay.

B. Puzzles involving levers and blocks significantly slow down the pace of the game which by nature is in an already repetitive genre.

C. The ability to get stuck and backtrack to find the puzzle piece is a gameplay element that grew stale in Resident Evil 1 for the playstation.

D. The combat itself is rather bad. Upgraded moves and RPG elements are un-necessary, and add very little to your combat abilities. The vast majority of movies you can perform are made with the obviously overpowered chain weapons right out of the gate. Every 3d Castlevania has had a more complex battle system than every GoW title.

The story, character, and diversity of the game ensure that it gets high ratings for originality, but when you compare it to a real action game, it falls short.

I'm not surprised this game has a ton of fanboys. The game is "cool." It attempts to put style over substance, and when half of your short-ass game is filled with puzzles to open the door to the next room, we might as well be playing the last Prince of Persia game and saying it's better than DMC 4. You can't compare them, it's a different genre.

If you want a badass story narrative that is good for a playthrough on easy just to enjoy the story, then stick with God of War. If you want depth in your battle system, or graphics, go with Ninja Gaiden 2, because even on easy difficutly, this game will tear you apart until you learn to actually play better. It's an action game. No puzzles, throw away story, great graphics, bad camera, unbelievable difficulty, everything that a good action game has always had, back to Ninja Gaiden for the NES.

Again you are babbling sh*t. NG is the simple game, you just fight and don't have to worry about anything else. DMC is actually quite the same, story aint deep and the puzzles, if you can call them that are easy, but GOW ain't simple you do a lot more in it than fight and if in simple you mean easy to beat, play with the harder difficulty and it ain't easy. Also don't start with the "NG is hard even with the easy mode" because that actually sucks, because it turns off players who can't play, with GOW on the other hand you actually can CHOOSE if the game is easy, hard or very hard, and im actually quite amazed about how the "great player" couldn't see things like this. Looks like the player has been played. (Come up with something clever will ya?)
