I did give a reason. The storyline in Resistence wouldn't even pass as a B movie plot. It's generic, filled with plot holes. GoW isn't much better, but still, it is a tad above the abyss that is Resistence' storyline. I can't call either of these games anything more than mediocre for the simple fact that their respective storylines are shallow at best.

Why? Simple, Resistance 2 builds on what R1 was, adds even larger online, does something I have never seen in an online FPS before, they are trying to innovate, 8 player co-op, weapons have dual firing modes, Leviathan is just sick... come on, 300ft!!!, spider grenade is sick as well. It just seems to keep adding more and more each day.

Gears of War 2... honestly... what have they added? It seems to be the same exact game all over again. How can anyone think that is better? Unless of course repetition is their thing. I see little no advancement... seriously.

As for the storyline excuse... doesn't work when Gears storyline itself is even more non existant. Bring on some gameplay reasons as to why Gears will be better. Some new features? Innovation in the online portion? Anything?

I don't know about everyone else, but plenty of good ideas were brought up to Cliffy B. his response in short a simple terms was nothing more than a "No". He wants it to be the same game again.

From what i have seen of both games and this is coming from a SONY fan

Gears of war 2 seems to be the better game for graphics.

I don't see much of an ugrade graphically from GeOW1 to be completely honest.

Unless some incredible video released I don't know about.

Gears of War seems more appealing to me.I thought Resi 1 was generic,beat it though.

I would just like to see a little more color in Gears. Too much gray going on.

Same thing that makes Killzone 2 look fugly.

Even easier to see when you look at the redwood online stage for R2.

Unfortunately one is FPS while the other is TPS, much easier to compare if both were the same style. Both games will be tons of fun no doubt, but with what GeOW 2 doesn't add, I must admit I am kinda disappointed.

Most hollywood movies are good at sucking ass lately, The zohan for example is a downright stupidity(middle eastern spy wants to be a hair dresser, craves old woman, wtf?) and what is this comment of yours, first they both suck in storyline, but now gears is a little bit better(i smell fanboy)HAHA. I played Gears 2 all the way to Act 3 on co-op(or where they go underground), and the only story that i gotten out of the game was how to saw a locust in half, seal immergence holes or they get you, and shoot, cover-shoot, shoot-cover. Resistance, on co-op, theres a british officer narrating history lessons to me between the missions in retro black and white screens.

w/e IMO, Resistance 2 is going to be better, more weapons, more enemies, online mayhem, co-op, everything that i said and linked in my original message.

I would say that Resistance is a better game for me but Gears of War is more unique and is selling to a much bigger userbase and more people are aware of the game.

Im biased as I don't like gears, but I would say gears 1 was a better game and if gears 2 is an improvement, resistance will have to improve a lot more to catch and surpass it on quality. I would say like the game or not, gears 2 will probably achieve exactly what it aims to do and for that it will be an excellent game. It doesn't matter if you like the series, quality is quality.
