Forums - Sales Discussion - Wii Launches in Taiwan July 12

http://www.nintendo.tw/index.html

Looks like Wii is launching in Taiwan officially on July 12th. Taiwan has ~23 million people, and per capita GDP of ~$30,000, and ~13 million internet users according to the world factbook.

Seems like Wii could sell 2-3 million in Taiwan, lifetime, in a best case scenario, though it probably will be lower than that in reality.

There is the matter of regional popularity. How popular is the Wii, or Nintendo for that matter, in Taiwan?

There was a thread before about this and I expect that the Wii will sell half so good/bad as in South Korea..

I would need to know how DS did there to figure out Wii. But I'm assuming Taiwan is very big in the PC gaming market, and so far Wii has done very well in PC heavy markets.

Day before my birthday Good news!!!! >_>.......... Lol, I think the Wii at best will sell 2 million. At least 1.5 million is my prediction. >_>

Finally, the Wii will start gaining some ground in the "Other" Other's region.

Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.

That's the same thing people said about the Korea launch. I'd expect better from Nintendo fans.
