well considering the Wii have been out 1 year less them 360 no wonder 360 have more but since Wii sells a hell of alot more consoles it will pass the 360 within 1-1,5 years.

Except that if you ignore the Xbox360 early lead and just look at 2008. this year the Xbox360 added 15 million sellers, the Wii added 8 so far....And the Wii sold a lot more consoles than the 360 this year...

The title says it all. Which console will have the most million sellers  by the end of the generation?

According to Vg, the number of million sellers on each console at the moment are:

wii- 25 = + 9 = 34

360- 41 + 17 = 58

PS3- 15 + 6 = 21

By the looks of things, i think it will be pretty close between 360 and the wii. I still wouldn't rule out the PS3 yet, though.

Since this thread was made.

LOL, complete pwnage confirmed. I'm wondering if the 360 can get as many million sellers as the PS and PS2.

Its not just that the Wii has double the base of the 360, but that double represents a difference of 20m gamers (likely 30m or more by end of 2009).

360 and PS3 sales will remain high relative to userbase, so long as they continue releasing quality titles. But we're getting to the point where a game will be a million seller if it reaches just 2% of the Wii user base. The threshold needed to be a hit drops dramatically with each month, and that will only encourage more titles from publishers.

wii will have a couple more million sellers by the end of 08 and early 09 depending on the legs. one thing to note is that wii total million software is higher including bundles of course.

wii will eventually pass the 360. 360 is winning now because it had a one year head start and most of the major 3rd party games have come out for 360. now we are starting to see a shift where 3rd parties are finally realizing they must support the wii so lots more games and high quality games will be coming to the wii which will shrink 360's lead over the next few years. also wii is starting to get to the kinda of userbase where if a game has any sort of traction it will eventually hit a million. we are seeing a lot of wii games just have long decent legs and instead of stopping around 500-600k like you would think they slowly stretch their way out over a million. and its only gonna increase from here on out.

i think starting next year and every year thereafter wii will have more million sellers than 360 (with ps3 obviously in 3rd every year)

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus

Proud owner of wii, gamecube, xbox, ps2, dreamcast, n64, snes, genesis, 3DO, nes, atari, intellivision, unisonic tournament 2000, and gameboy

Worth remembering that as far as new software goes, Nintendo's had a pretty crappy 9 months, while the 360's plate has been full. The Wii lineup looks 10 times better next year, and we still don't know what's coming in the back half.

1. Wii

2. PS3

3. 360

The 360 being a software monster is a myth. Attach rates for all 3 consoles are pretty much the same. It will go in order of which has the bigger install base. So, Wii > PS3 > 360.

I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you're talking about. No, in fact I know you don't.

Anyway - 360, Wii, PS3.
