FFXII was enjoyable, it just wasn't that good in many people's opinions, and certainly not up to par with most of the legacy preceeding it.

For me it was the least enjoyable Final Fantasy game I've ever played by far (and I've played a TON of them).

Nothing odd about hating FFVII. I loathe that game, if it weren't for X-2 It would still be my most hated game in the series. If/when they remake FFVII, they better fix the abhorrent story and atrocious gameplay. If not, the game could have graphics on the level of Final Fantasy: Spirits Within and I still wouldn't touch it.

I'll agree, FF7 is an atrocious game. Its just something about the characters and story that leave this foul taste in my mouth. A dose of convoluted story here, a dash of bland, unexciting or uninteresting characters there. And it's legion of stupid 'Zomg FF7 are teh best!' fans aren't making it better. (Of course, no moronic fan chatter ever does..)

My favorite is still FF6, though I did enjoy what I played of FF9 (Never finished it before the PS2 busted..) Then the FF3 remake and FF5 duke it out. I used to really love the original, but going back and playing it makes you wonder why they ever thought it was a good idea to just let your characters attack dead enemy spaces and waste the character's action.

FF7 is my all time favorite, however it suffered as a result of its limited graphics and the available technology for story telling, redone in a style that could better deliver the story and world to the player would really benefit the game. However, as we've seen with Advent Children (which was enjoyable) and Dirge of Cerberus, Square-Enix is all too cock happy to turn anything new incarnations of FF7 into 13-year-old girl emo-bullshit. They even downsized Tifa's breast in Advent Children... lame... Isn't Cloud suppossed to have eyebrows too? Fucking Square-Enix.

 That cant be a coincidence. FF8 broke my cd-rom also. The game bugged in the middle of a lengthy summon and the send my cd-rom to heaven. That was the worst FF IMO. The character development was as bad as Chrono Chross (but with 6 instead of 40+).

8 was the best FF game in terms of gameplay, system and sidequests, but was by far the worst FF game in terms characters, story and world. Bland, boring and confusing.

Not everyone agrees FF is getting worse and going down the shitter? Yeah it's soo fuckin bad now...

Second of all since when does fuckin sony make final fantasy games????? I thought it was a little company called Square Enix making them not Sony, yet you claim this is proof that I have a Sony bias because I like Final Fantasy and am disagreeing with you that it's going down the shitter as you so eloquently put it. 

I... am a lover of FF... from 1-6 I played them on their initial release(some of them I struggled through in Japanese with a friend) I was that into these games that I'd spend the, then excessive, importing fees.

7 I thought was good but it felt so different 8... I couldn't even force myself to finish 9 was good I loved it same lighthearted feeling though some characters were lacking a bit. 10 I hated, 10-2 I was sick. 11 was great! 12 was mediocre at best.

I'm seeing a pattern here, and after reading that 13 used a similar battle system to 12 which in itself was basically a rip off of 11's battle system, I'm probably going to skip it. FF13 was the reason I bought a PS3(why so early I don't know) but I'm probably just gonna try to ebay it now, it's in good enough shape.
