Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should there be more violent action games on Wii?

The soccer moms and grandparents do not like violent games it would anger them if Nintendo brought more violent games on the console.

Do you think the average soccer mom knows the difference between a game made by Nintendo and a game made by Ubisoft?

I think Nintendo should make a good mature title which would sell really well to show the third parties that if they put effort into a mature title on the Wii then it will sell well.

Nintendo does not like to have too many violent games. It does not want to scare anyone away so majority of their games are General rating and aimed at targeting all people both young and old. If you want violent games get either a PC, PS3 or an X360.

That's why Reggie "talked" to Rockstar to get Manhunt 2 on the Wii, right?

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks
