Forums - Gaming Discussion - How to get Cigarette smeel out of gaming equipment?

I have very bad asthma and bought a Sega Saturn controller and a PSP video out component cable online (amongst other things). Both these items smell like smoke and it is very disgusting. How do I get the smell out?

Use alcohol that should work

You could try spraying some deodorant on them, I guess.

I would wipe down the outside with rubbing alcohol. Then you will probably just have to wait for them to slowly destinkify.

Spray them with air freshener until they smell like lemons or vanilla, depending on which smell you bought.

That would be good for most but I want to actaully get the smell out not mask it becuase I am getting over bad asthma and I don't want a stupid smelly controller to bring it back!

Oxiclean or hydrogen peroxide will pretty much clean (or kill) anything.

That sounds good. Is that stuff safe to use on game controlers and discs?
