Forums - Gaming - Good 1st Gen Games that Need to Be Better(next time around)

There has been a number of enjoyable games at launch till now, that could have been much better but we cut them slack because they were the first attempt at games this generation, but now that we've seen what this generation of consoles can do these title's sequels really need to pwn next time around!!!

Red Steel-I enjoyed the game despite wonky controls, and weird sword play. Next time around there better be better controls, online play, better graphics. Personally too, I'd like a little more adventure gameplay in the game, I liked just walking around the world, it was a fun setting.

Uncharted-I enjoyed the game quite a bit, its cinematic, and gorgeous. But it needs more versatile gameplay, I felt a little to trapped, climbing only worked where they wanted you to climb, they didn't let you drive vehicles other then the jetski. plus they need either a longer game, or some sidequest adventures, and extras, something to add to replay, the last one was short with little reason to replay. And please more locations, most adventure movies and games go to at least 3 locations to mix up the look. This game could really learn something from Metal gear solid, with all the items, and weapons play available like tracking footprints, and sneaking around enemies as opposed to always having to get into a gun fight. Plus only being allowed to have 2 guns is incredibly annoying. escpecially when one is a shotgun.(this also goes for Red Steel)

Wii Sports- It's hard to talk about this title, as it seems to have many suedosequels like Play and Fit. But Sports was a fun party game, execpt there was little depth to multiplayer options, and since it is alot of fun to play with others, it would be great to play this online. I'd love to play tennis with others online, and perhaps have a leaderboard for the minigames. They could also improve the controls on the games that need it like boxing, add minigames, and perhaps another sport, how about disc golf? that would be sweet.

Miis-the miis are cool, but I thought by now we'd have had an update for them. more face options, perhaps clothing, or maybe the option to make a little house or room. Once you make a few, the novelty of these guys is gone.

Now list yours!!!

Around the Network

Perfect Dark Zero is the best example of this phenomenon. Terrible AI, unfair stealth mechanics, and "meh" visuals, yet it garnered pretty excellent scores all around. To this day, I have no idea why.

Also, Wii Sports is basically the Wii's killer app, even one and a half years later. More than anything, it's the game moving so many Wiis off of store shelves. I really don't think it needs changing at all. :)

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Dead Rising: Supremely flawed, but awesome game. The reasons have been repeated to death.

Kameo: Focus more on the massive battles plz

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Are you saying you don't think they should make a Wii Sports 2? And if they did you don't think they should add anything, even better boxing controls? I love Wii Sports, but looking back there is alot that could be added to keep it going. Granted its simple for a reason, but I still think it could be refined, with hidden depth for those that would like it.

btw perfect dark zero is another excellent example. I only rented it once, and it could have been alot more.

In regard to Kameo, I really don't see it getting a sequel at this point. But Dead Rising will definitly get one.
