GH3 guitar was easier than Rock Band. The only reason it could be considered harder is mroe notes thrown at you. The area of acceptance on note hits was outrageous on GH3. You could be almost 1/4 of a beat behind and still register. GH2 is better than GH3. The songs in GH3 are lamer too, they are more popular of course, but easy and lame. Rock Band shit is hard too. Try playing Blackened on the drums. I do not see people paying for both sets of drums. The peopel who wanted a drumming game got Rock Band, and I do not see them double dipping. Rock Band also delivers new songss every week, GH releases an entire new game of what should be downloadable content. I find that rubbish.

You obviously haven't been following the development of the Wii version....

No it's not. Not even close. That's not an opinion, that is a provable fact. Less notes, less cording. In fact, most people who have only played Rock Band, can beat it on expert, but can't finish Hard on Guitar Hero, in my experience.

Saying Rock Band is harder than Guitar Hero 3 is silly and wrong.

The fret board moves faster on GH3, the songs are easier and have far less notes on Rockband, and the hit-box only matters if your playing on easy when you hit one note every 2 or 3 seconds.

For an expert Guitar Hero player, nothing on Rock Band is even remotely hard.

Now, drums, that's an entirely different instrument. However, comparing strictly guitar, Rock Band is dumbed down, yes, dumbed down, so that the difficutly doesn't put too much pressure on one particular member, even on expert mode. Go look at some of the comparison songs on youtube if you have any doubts.

Well, I found GH2 songs more difficult than GH3. Sure TTFF is hard as fuck, but that is one song, and the only song I could not beat on expert. You can look me up if you like, my gamertag is JaggedSac. Not sure how my scores have held up since I had the game(I traded it in and kept GH2) but I think I did fairly well on all the songs.

Edit: I do not give a rats ass about the Wii version. From a rythm standpoint, the RockBand guys know what the hell they are doing.

That's also complete rubbish. Guitar Hero 2 is much easier than Guitar Hero 3, and there is the notorious wall of difficulty starting with Raining Blood on hard.

Most casual players could cruise through expert on GH2 with a little practice, but GH3 is much, much more difficulty. Why don't you go read...any review of the game. They all complain about the difficulty of GH3. Also, there is the anecdotal experience of anyone who has ever played the game, as well as the youtube videos comparing the game to show off its video. I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I know for a fact having experienced all the games for literally countless hours, nobody is going to tell me that Guitar Hero 3 isn't the hardest of those types of games, I'm sorry. You have your opinion, but it's wrong, in my, what I consider expert, opinion.

Well, having played all three games, I can say that GH2 is the hardest and Rock Band and GH3 are easy. I fucking breezed through GH3 career on expert as soon as I got it. The only thing that was hard was TTFF  (and the boss battle which is rife with bullshit) and that was not even a part of the career. Like I said, if you doubt I have played the games, look at my gamertag on the leaderboards or XBox.com for my achievements. When ESPN makes this joke..."almost only counts in horse shoes, hand grenades, and guitar hero 3".. you know something is amiss.

Welp, that's your opinion. I think your trolling, I doubt you've ever played guitar hero 3, and I think your a rock band fanboy.

You see, someone can also say:

Well, having seen the sky, I can say that the sky on earth is green. I f'ng washed my skin on the green sky as soon as I saw it. The only thing that was in the way was the purple sun.

They have their opinion. That doesn't mean anyone with a pair of eyes has to believe it.

What do you want me to tell ya brother, you said something crazy, I can't be expected to believe it. I don't know you, that could be your brothers 360 for all I know. I'm just saying that there is no way in hell you could actually believe what you claim if you have indeed played the games. Now, if I knew you in person, you could prove it to me behind the contoller(that you have an opinion based valid facts, however you STILL would never convince anyone that the guitar in Rock Band is harder than Guitar Hero 3, sorry, that's crazy) but that's not gonna happen, so lets just end the conversation here, and not start a flame war.

Okay, I guess I should not have said that Rock Band was harder than GH3, in my opinion they are equally as easy. GH2 had much more difficult rhythms to overcome. I am not impressed by just throwing a ton of notes my way and speeding up the fret bar. I was very disappointed in GH3, played it for a month, and sold it. GH2 is a better game than GH3 is all I am saying, and reviewers, for the most part, said the same thing.

I don't get why people get upset with them adding bass notes in GH, as long as the difficulty being added is related to the song and not just thrown in for the hell of it I don't really care. I enjoy the challenge quite a bit...if they were just throwing notes in you might have a point..but they aren't.

PS - GH3 is easily more difficult than RB, perhaps you have a problem with the reasons why, but its not even that close.

@main topic,

RB and GH have copied each other quite a bit already so I think it is somewhat silly to argue which one is more original. I want both of them to have the great features and to constantly battle each other until we have an absolutely perfect game for the genre.

Until then the competition and the copying are a good thing for consumers. My brand loyalty goes no further than my investment in the instruments and at the end of the road regardless of who comes out on top I'll be there playing that game. In the mean time I'll be sticking to whoever has the best game when I make my purchase.

It looks like as a Wii owner GH4 is going to be an easy choice this time around.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Well considering Rock Band is clearly never coming out where I live (Australia) and EA has made it clear that if it does it will cost more than a 360, I'd have to go GH4. It's not made by EA so it will be a reasonable price.
