Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony or Microsoft?

Personally I used to buy everything Sony. Now though I dont. Panasonic always get the best TV right ups and from what I feel are the best TV company. In car stereos top 3 companies are Rockford and Fosgate, Alpine and Pioneer. Also Surround sound systems and Stereos: Marantz, Arcam and Yamaha are all considered better seperate sytems. I havent bought a Sony product since the PS2. It's not that Sony arent good. It's that othere companies are better in certain fields.

They're both kind of scumbag corporations.

Which corporation isn't these days.

But if you ask me about the least scumbag from the two... easy... Sony.

I know.  I loved it when they tried to trick me into putting anti-piracy malware on my computer and sold me an exploding laptop battery.

What amazes me how people are talking about Sony producing reliable hardware when in the respect of consoles they've only just got it right this generation! It's taken them 12 years.

The PS1 and PS2 were absolutely shoddy consoles, and as for the 360 well MS have greatly improved the quality of the console from the first major hardware revision.

 AMEN! +∞^2

Last time i check they say that they now have a 16% failure rate.... that's still pretty bad. And even if ps1 and 2 didn't come out so well, did they every had a 30+% failure rate??? Did they ever have a problem as infamous as the RROD??? The YLoD is practically a myth from what i see.

Dre Dre Dre Dre Dre Dre Dre! And its not the guy slim shady locks in his basement.

I should know, My PS3 is on the blink, 4 PS2s broke and 2 PSX broke.

Oh yea, replace that "16" with something like an 8 a 9 or a 7 a 6 or even a 5 and you'll be in the right ballpark for current reliability at my worst estimation.

You either broke em all or bought em broken or your just incredibly ulucky  , I know plenty of people with their original PS2's , PS1's till this day  . The point isn't what the quality of Sony's hardware was , it's was it is now , never at any point has Sony's faliure rate with any other their consoles been as signifcant as the RROD and the PS2,PS1's at least lasted a couple of years if they were going to die outright , you wouldn't see them broken on display.

I played less than a couple hundred hours on my PS3 and it broke...

I guess im just incredibly unlucky.

Tease.

Do we not consider batteries to be hardware?

What tricked me was Perfect Dark Zero and the actual existence of JRPG's on my malfunctioning system.....

I really dislike Microsoft's business plan, but at least they have a business plan.

Sony (PlayStation division), I think, is one of least intelligent gaming companies around. It looks like they don't know what the hell they're doing...

Sony are the better corporation in my opinion. While both have good and bad, MS has more bad and far too many at that.

On Reliability of Playstations:
Out of 3 PS1s and 3 PS2s in my family only 1 is not being used anymore and although I say that, if I wanted to use it, It still works (just upside down).

Hmm, pie.
