Forums - Nintendo - Wii alows playing directly from SD cards unitentionaly confirmed ?

If any you find information stating that the wii reads directly from the sd card when playing music then I take back my words but, I have tried and I have not found a site that says that it reads directly form the card instead of copyng to the wii first and then playing.

As for Endless Ocean, that game's so friggin' awesome. *.*
On topic: Well it'd be nice, but we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe that was the solution Nintendo said that it wasn't "Hardware based"?

Did you just pull that out of nowhere? What proof do you have of Excite Truck and Endless Ocean not allowing direct play from an SD card? Source?

Lol, he/she wants you to prove that it is not direct play from SD card. You want him/her to prove it is not directly play from SD card again.

1. Where did you found that SSBB, Endless Ocean & Excite are not able to read files directly from SD card?

2. Vicarious Visions didn't mention they would use temporary cache either, so there is no proving or disproving anything.

So, here's my proof.

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

Here's proof:  You'd require large amounts of storage space on your Wii everytime you played back an audio file in Excite truck.  You don't require any extra space so you are wrong on this and SSBB ;)  SSBB will read directly from the card when you want to play a level on the card.  It doesn't copy it to local flash first.  It goes from the SD card directly to ram.  Until you can prove to me that I'm wrong then I'll stick to my own conclusion.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that you're arguing against the same point ...

From a user's perspective if a game copies a file from the SD card into a memory cache before playing it the game seems to use the file directly from the SD card, from a technical perspective there is a copying from the SD card onto the system. Personally, I suspect that they would copy the file from the SD card into memory regardless of whether it was possible to play directly from SD cards because they can not be certain of the quality/speed of the SD card a person uses in their Wii ...

Please cite proof and the I again will take my words. When I say proof I mean an article from a decent source that say it PLAYS directly from the SD card.

Please cite proof that it doesn't. The fact that you can play mp3 files larger then the memory blocks you need to play excite truck is proof. Obviously it uses a certain amount of RAM for buffer, but that is not any different for the DLC in GH WT...

Actually you can play videos back from SD cards, they don't load to the Wii first.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

I think it is pretty obvious it doesn't copy music files when you listen because you can skip through tracks, unless you are suggesting it loads all (100 max) songs onto the Wii?
