ToV (360 exclusive)
ZoE3 (Doesnt exist)
Shadow of Colossus 2 (Doesnt exist)

These games will SPIKE PS3 sales in Japan.

well, atleast maybe on E3 there will be some announcements, but for now, Wii lineup with japanese oriented games look bland.

See I can do the same, you are very deluded. The Wii has a constant flow of games that keep attracting in new gamers
to it, while the PS3 games are too far away from each other, and there's less games released. A lot are for the Western audience, japanese don't even care for the majority of PS3 games.

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

It's because those examples make the rest of your argument look biased and without reasonable evidence. Doesn't help how you avoided mentioning many Wii titles or how some are 360&PS3 titles...

Hopefully with MGS4 - we can start to see sales pick up. The next half of this year will see better games - so that could push more sales and hopefully get it up to a stable 40k+ per week compared to the measly 10k :(.

@finalsquall: 40k/week. Are you that blind? There's no way in hell that it will happen, please use some common sense... Most of the HW sold were limited bundles.

Its about gaming experiences. The PS2 provided new, innovative experiences - and owned the market before the GC or XBOX could even make an impact.

The PS3 just isn't doing enough that the PS2 can't do. Its going to take a while to produce products that are truly innovative on the PS3, in such a way that the games were *impossible* on the PS2 gen.

The Wii on the other hand, is all about new gaming experiences - and the games that are doing this the best, are the ones selling well (and with legs).

The exception are the "fan" games - ones with such a strong fanbase, that the fans will buy any platform to play the game.

No one can claim that the PS3 has NOT sold because it hasn't had any games available for it - this list is significantly better than the list of Wii games that has been released to date (in terms of brand names anyway).

Well the PS3 will likely not sell a lot in Japan unless Sony can get more games the Japanese like. Instead of focusing on shooters the way they have been.
