I never pictured Australians as obese, oh well, at least the US isn't first.

USA fat population>all of Australia's population.

Oh, I was wrong. America was 9th when this list was published:

Naruru (94.5%)
Micronesia (91.1%)
Cook Islands (90.9%)
Tonga (90.8%)
Niue (81.7%
Samoa (80.4%)
Palau (78.4%)
Kuwait (74.2%)
United States (74.1%)
Kiribati (73.6%)

Thanks the country's population obsession with losing weight now, and the new increase in fatty-oz-people, America may now be out of the top ten entirely.

^The page that I found these numbers from was published in Feb 07, the list itself could be even older now, so there are bound to have been some changes.

What happened to Naruru?

I always thought those Australians were throwing a lot of weight around here...now we know why.

All of them are from Oceania, and are very small islands.

“Based on the old data and self-reported surveys, we had thought that seven million adults were obese or overweight, but it is actually nine million,” Professor Simon Stewart, who led the research team, said. “That is a whole million more obese adults than we had thought.”

Is Australia worst at maths too?

Apparently they understand the math on the Dollar Menu just fine.
