How about just a pastel colour? Like a pastal red, or something.

EDIT: What about just changing the colour scheme to a series of reds? If you look at all of the most popular sites, they always have a series of shades of a colour throughout the site, and that makes up most of the layout (like VGC)

Are you tinking of a crossweave single color like Vgchartz, or more of a fading blend from light to dark, vice versa.

I applaud your effort and wish you success but you have some major competition as far as free dating sites are concerned.  Plenty of Fish for example does what your website does but has many thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of members and is very well established.  You'll have to step up your game dramatically to even have a chance of success.  Hopefully I'm not discouraging you though as I do think it's possible for you to be extremely successful if you can come up with something fresh.
