Forums - Gaming - Zenfoldor's way to get games really cheap, because he loves you:

Well, I've been telling you guys about Ebay for a while, but I thought it would just be better to show you some of the games I've bought over the last few days on Ebay, the price I paid, and how I generally play every game this generation for little to no money out of my own pocket after sellbacks. These are all "buy it now" items and I have never wasted time bidding.

Buying and reselling used games is perfectly legal. In fact, Gamestop has built its business model off of it. It it were illegal, I guarntee you Nintendo and Sony would have that portion of the gamestop business shut down long ago and it wouldn't be allowed on Ebay, which it is. In fact it is encouraged, and many small business sell their games on Ebay as well as brick and mortar. If your gonna buy used games, don't go to gamestop. Get em off Ebay, and sell your old games there too. Your post office IS the USPS office and they have packaging for you to ship for 2 dollars a pop for the envelopes and 2 dollars for the shipping costs.

If you have to have a game launch day or your just gonna pay full price, then get it off the VGChartz amazon store. If your going used, save yourself the trip to godaweful gamestop and shop on Ebay, the games are in better condition, and you don't get hosed, milked, or screwed in the process.

With the money I made selling some of my old games, I bought every game worth a crap on the 360 , with 150 dollars left over. That's off about 20-30 games sold over a couple of weeks from my old pile of stuff I'll never play anymore. I still kept the good stuff like CoD4, Persona 3, Odin Sphere, I just sold the rare/bad games like KOTOR 2, Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright 1(I got 25 bucks for that game), ICO, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, and Suikoden 3. I still have any and every game that there is even a chance that I would ever play it again.

Ebay ftw. It's like the new legal napster for thrifty gamers who are tired of paying premium prices for used games or getting 5 bucks back on a 70 dollar game from gamestop.

My next game is Lost Planet which is only 15 dollars on Ebay. Happy shopping.

Let me reitterate, buying games new or on day one should be done at VGChartz amazon.com store. Buying used games on a budget should be bought off ebay, but in any case, avoid gamestop like plague.

That is where I buy most my games unless they are must buys and I have to get them on release. Also if you learn how you could buy broken console fix them and they are as good as new. I just fixed my broken ds phat, and bought a ds lite with it's hinge broken, and another with it's screen broken, for 70 dollars. I plan on fixing both of them keeping one, and then selling the other for profit. If you are young it's a good way to make money, or if you just need extra money it also is a good way.

Edit: Btw it only takes me 5 minutes to fix a broken ds.

Holy cow, dude, you have that page ultra zoomed in.

If you're from the UK, you can also pick up used games real cheap from GAME, or Blockbusters (not so much Gamestation). We picked up Timesplitters 3 the other day for 97p. Most Gamecube/Xbox games are under a pound, and old PS2 games are usually just a couple of quid.

In Blockbusters you often get 3 for 20 smackers as well. My brother also picked up Crackdown and Halo 3 for 30 big ones the other day.

I would give more anecdotal evidence, but I've run out of ways to say "pound".

Or if your a gaming freak and want your habit to perpetually re-energize itself with new games from the recycled corpses of old ones, then it's definitely the way to go.

lol, in America, these gamestores are out for you cheese and they don't care if they have to lose you as a customer to get it.

Also, lol, the zoom is nice. I prefer the large letters so I can pimp slide back in my seat whilst surfing.

How often do you get a scratched disc or package in horrible shape (or similar)?

Or no game at all?

Do u always pay with PayPal (or similar).

I've never bought any used games over the internet, because Im so afraid to get ripped off lol.

I usually only buy very old games as used, since I want to support the developers.

Even when buying new games, I search around for the best deals, meaning that I rarely pay full price for games anyway. Because of this, I often end up buying games online which is where the best deals are usually found. There are plenty of websites to help with finding the best prices such as pricerunner.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

Also ebay is a good place to get the same price you bought the game for. I had the 360 version of CoD 4, but didn't like the controls so I sold it on ebay and got $55 for it. That is $5 dollars less than what I paid for it.

I've never got a disc that didn't work, I always pay with paypal, and most people require paypal, I've always got the disc, and if you are't satisfied with what you get, paypal can pull your money back out of their account for up to 30 days after the initial charge.

That stuff probably use to happen a lot, but on modern Ebay, frankly, it's a myth. Nobody with positive feedback is ruining their good name for a 25 dollar profit on a single game. I bet I've bought 60 games off Ebay and the worst I've ever gotten is a lightly scratched version which still was better than any used game I've ever got at gamestop, and they've all played perfectly.

That is why you buy from people with a 99-100% rating. Most people have it so It's not hard to find. I've never gotten a scratched or broken disc, or an empty case. The only problem I have with buying online is waiting for the games to come. Most people only except paypal, so that is the way to go, and it's safer.
