Forums - General - Faith-healing teen dies at home (from something curable)

I agree.

It always depresses me to see a child forced into a certain religion by his family, I would rather just have them make thier own decisions on the subject.

I once knew a guy that I thought 100% was gay, and he would never admit it, even to thias day, because his whole family is very conservative christian.

Very sad.

We'll miss you George.

Although it must be noted that having faith that you are going to heal sometimes does strangely work. Belief is an incredibly powerful thing, thats why the placebo effect can be observed.

Yes, but the placebo effect is non-denominational.

How sad. If they had more trust into doctors he would still be alive. Why do people get blinded by faith when doctors save many lives on a daily basis?

You're all missing the point. It's clearly that he didn't have enough faith to be cured.

He got a free ticket to Heaven. I see no problem with that.

God gave everyone a free ticket to heaven, he's called JESUS. Or is a urinary tract infection better than that?

Yes, but one can lose his faith on the way.

Which would mean that they wouldn't give a damn about getting into heaven, because they'd know that it doesn't exist.
