Forums - Sony - New InFamous Screens!

Garcian Smith does have a point but, he hasn't done much contribution to the tread by attacking other people's opinions.

As far as those screenshots go, the final game will be even better and plus, most games that I have played that ran in HD ( 720p-1080p range) were not so heavy on the "Glossy Mud".  Granted, I've only played one game running in true 1080p......

Like I posted in an earlier inFamous thread, this game looks like Assassin's Creed control scheme ( one of the strengths of that game) with lightning powers. @ Mummelmann  : One reason you probably thought GTA IV was a let down was because of the enemies in the game.  It's just the same s*** over again from the previous GTAs, while in inFamous, they are going with more interesting and challenging enemies.  ( one of the first mini-bosses in the game teleports short distances while throwing concussive blasts in your direction.)

I was disappointed with GTAIV not because it's the same stuff as previous GTAs, but because it actualy has less stuff than previous GTAs.  Far less.  In the name of realism they removed a LOT of what made GTA fun.  Where are the gangs?  Robbing houses? The jetpack, tank, or attack helicopter?  Where are the hidden packages?

And in the end the game is still hardly realistic.

Lots of bloom and normal mapping. Lots of shades of brown.

Been there. Done that. Yawn.

If you have nothing at all to add to the thread, please don't post.

Serious question, not meant as a troll: Why does expressing disappointment, skepticism, and/or a general state of being unimpressed constitute "not adding to the thread," while the various "looks amazing, can't wait!" posts are given a free pass? Are all of the various "new screenshots for X game out!" threads meant to be love-fests only?

@ tombi123: I have nothing against PS3 exclusives, but I do dislike this new trend of, "make everything look like it's coated in a sheet of glossy mud" in HD games.

then u should of explained yourself fully if you didnt want to be accused of trolling, the post im replying is ok, its not troll, but your original one was

I'm looking forward to learn more about this game, maybe at E3

''Hadouken!''

I agree to a point.  I chewed out mrstickball in a thread a while back chiding him by saying that it's the "Microsoft Discussion" forum and not the "Microsoft is awesome" forum for the exact same reasons.  You can't have a discussion if you don't allow posters to express their view.

On the other hand... go to a concert full of fans of the bands playing and say "Well their music kind of sucks" and see what kind of response you get.  If you're going to go against the crowd then prepare for some backlash.  In this case, short and abrupt comments don't help you out and only make you come off as a jerk.

You're right that you should be able to express your view, but a bit of tact goes a long way.

Garcian is right. We are discussing the screenshots, not what the game may possibly turn out like or the developer credentials.

The screenshots aren't that impressive.

WoW's exactly right. You can definitely talk about things you don't like for a game or video, but having some tact when doing so really helps you not to come off as a big douchebag.
