Forums - Sales - Will Metal Gear 4 sell more than GTAIV (360) in 2008?

Just had a look at the results of the poll of the day and 25.8% of users believe GTAIV(360) will be the top WW seller for 2008 and 23.08% believe that MGS4 will be the top seller. It's very close indeed.

By all means MGS4 has had a very good opening week but I don't think it will outsell GTAIV on the 360.

But i'm not very good at predicting so i would like to see what people think.

 

EDIT: mgs4 has been voted by vgchartz users as the top seller for 2008

I don't believe it will outsell either version. Regardless of whether it's a better game or not, it's not nearly as popular.

Much later on in the PS3's lifetime, maybe, when th userbase is there. It will be a recommended must-buy for them the rest of the generation.

No...You cant ignore the Metal Gear Series history. It will sell right around where MGS2 and MGS3 sold.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Longer answer ... What the hell are you thinking? Grand Theft Auto 4 for the XBox 360 is hovering close to the maximum lifetime sales that any metal gear solid game has sold, and it has another 6 months worth of sales this year to rack-up a couple million additional sales.

 With the change that MGS 4 might be bundled for a long time, I wouldn't say highly unlikely for the Ps3 version. Perhaps unlikely, but not highly.
