Forums - Nintendo - What are the chances of Nintendo anouncing a new 2d metroid at E3?

I miss 2D Metroid, and really hate the fact that it got turned into a sub-par FPS.

We'll miss you George.

Firstly all the metroid  prime series isn't an fps. It's an adventure game that uses the first person point of view. Secondly where did you get the idea that it's sub par? Metroid Prime is the 5th highest rated game on gamerankings. I don't believe that is a title for a sub par game.

Very low, super paper mario can be done cos Mario is a much more popular franchise than Metroid.

Well that didn't really help it set apart from metroid too much

That is about the average sales of a metroid game.

Could be nice to have a 2-d series fro all Nintendo Characters--

A 2-D Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Dkc... nice...
But with low possibilities

First off, any game where you spend 90% of the game SHOOTING in FIRST PERSON qualifies as a first person shooter.

Second off, regardless of what gamerankings scores it, I still believe that it's sub par, last I checked, opinions weren't right or wrong.

When you state your opinion as fact then I will show you that your opinion isn't that of others. And even nintendo lists the game as a First person adventure. You do more adventuring than combat.

Edit: Btw you don't shoot things in 90% of the game. Most of the game is about exploration and puzzles.

@ODC I believe nintendo made a large list of games to be released, and metroid dread is the only one that wasn't released. There was no information on the game other than it was on the ds.

I don't remember posting: "FACT: Metroid Prime is a sub-par game."

I guess from now on I'll have to put a disclaimer on every post stating that it is not fact but actually my opinion.

Anyhow, I played the first Metroid Prime, and it was just ok. I recently tried 3, and hated it, send it back to Gamefly on the first day.

I'd really like to play any Metroid, FPS or not, that recaptures the awesomeness of Super Metroid.

We'll miss you George.
