Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft to buy Sega?

I'm not really concerned about what it would do for Microsoft. I'm only curious if it will help Sega produce better games. I loved my Sega systems in the past and some old Sega games but over the past several years I have just been more and more disappointed.

I give this thread a 9.5.

Why would Sega want to be bought when they are doing so great with Nintendo.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

I miss old Sega and would love to see this happens. I think Microsoft would do a better job than Sammy on supporting Sega to make great games again.

MS should buy a large stake in Sega to get advantages... such as all HD games to 360 on time exclusive status (thinking of valkiry chronicles or others).
This would let sega free to continue developping other games on Wii and DS, so as to keep profitable.

Then the next console can be fully suported by sega, or even build by Sega for MS.

They would have to be very careful developing on the Wii... kinda risky to take away business from 360. IMO DS would still be safe. PSP and Wii are kinda competeting with 360 though... I'd make the Sonic games for Wii/DS/360 though, because sonic sells much better on Nintendo systems. I don't want Microsft to even buy Sega though.

I think microsoft needs to buy capcom, they have experience making GOOD 360 games, and are still well-known in japan. (not to mention the street fighter series)

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... Which is better, opening new stuidos, or buying old ones? I would imagine that buying old ones gives you less bang for your buck, but screws your competitors, which seems to be one of Microsfts goals (to take done Sony particularly) Capcom... that would hurt both Sony and Nintendo to lose, so it might be worth it. Imagine if PSP gets no more monster hunter...

at least you get proven devs though.

Just like Rare

Whilst Microsoft doesn't publish a massive amount of games they're almost always good games, so I'm guessing they have a high level of interal quality control (I remember seeing a thread that had the average gamerankings score per publisher and microsoft was second behind nintendo). Anyway its true I originally bought my xbox for the sega products such as jet set radio future and panza dragoon orta and I'd love for the old sega/microsoft collaboration of old to return.

MS is easily my least favorite company, but I think this would be great for Sega. A nice cash infusion could do wonders for their studios. The problem would be that I would have to buy a 360....

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
