my point is medium to high settings is the way most people play the game anyway, so what would be so different?

The difference is it was asked which game looks better.  Which one would assume meant at its best.

I bet i could make Crysis look worse then Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory if I fucked aroudn with the settings enough.

O.o! I tried putting all options as low as I could possibly go in Oblivion. The game ran extremely smooth, but was also uglier than quake 2. That, my friends, is an accomplishment.

is the 7800gtx good?

yes thats the card that began nvidia dominance of gpu graphics,

its was so good X1000 ati series couldn't compete til a 1950 pro drop off.

and by that time nvidia was preparing 8800

crysis got the best graphics this gen, so hell no

100% Mexican Power

On Max settings? No. ON high settings?? Some parts MGS4 but overall Crysis.

4 ≈ One

I'm going to assume OP meant does MGS4 at it's best (so white-light settings and full RGB) look Crysis at it's best (High end PC).

Answer is a no on all fronts, MGS4 isn't even the best looking game this generation, that title still goes with Uncharted. Why I rate uncharted below MGS4, CoD4 and even Gears is that it can't keep up that level of graphics throughout the entire game (screen tears, texture pop-ins).

But to answer OP, no MGS4 does not have better graphics than crysis. And you have to remember, Crysis is a pretty expansive open world, MGS4 is just being rushed through one tunnel after another (for nearly the entire experience).

somewhat true, but crysis kind of looks like haze at times

Not at all....

Why does this thread even exist? seriously, i have played both and i can play crysis maxed out and it trounces MGS4.

There is that problem that none of all games don't look better than crysis with max graphics. MGS4 is not even close.

Even on High Crysis is alot better than MGS4. The environment in Crysis is just breath taking. I also actually think it has better Character models too. I know in Warhead the amount of detail is just amazing.
But I get to play MGS4 on the TV which is 4 times bigger, so I can't complain. MGS4 still looks amazing though.
