THIS IS MEGALOL.
Does GT5 has better Graphics then Crysis? =)))
I mean, you comparing FPS to Third Person Tactical spionage game.
MGS4 has BEST graphics in it`s GENRE, so and GT5.
This thread is Full of Win. =))
Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Benchmarks http://www.geekpatrol.ca/2006/11/playstation-3-performance/ That proves that the clock speed of the cell is about 1.6ghz if you compare it to another cpu that runs in order. I also never said that it equaled the xenos. Its significantly better in than the xenos in many things, but games aren't one of them. Its just a little bit better in that area. |
That's a set of 2006 benchmarks run from a 2006 PPC benchmark program that the review clearly states was not optimized for CBE and its SPUs.
In short, that was a nice benchmark for the CELL CPU single core, which as the review states, is not an indicator of how well programs specifically coded for CBE optimization will run.
In other words, they're dated and fairly useless numbers in gauging actual CBE performance.
A better benchmark would be to process calculation intensive processing data packets like Folding@Home (which has a CBE optimized build available for the PS3) to see how individual CPUs stack up in terms of raw processing power.
I'll try downloading and running a Windows build of Folding and run it on a Q6600 based system to gauge relative times needed to process data packets although it wouldn't be an accurate assessment since not all data packets take the same amount of time to process.

Love it how the PS3 fanboys were so quick to jump onto "well MGS4 is the best looking CONSOLE game and best of it's genre" after being proven wrong when they flown the "MGS4 looks better than Crysis" flag.
That's almost as bad as MS fanboys saying they're winning the console race and wii is just a toy.

Well, I tried to end this quickly with my first reply, but it didn't work :P |
lol what can u expect its the internet plus look at who you're trying to talk to lol you guys should have known it was going to end up like this
And just a point of clarification, for my benefit and anyone who hasn't actually played Crysis.
Exactly what these Ultra High visual options people keep referencing?
The demo had Low, Medium, High and Very High. So I assumed the retail version of the game had a High, Very High and ULTRA High setting.
I'm playing the retail version right now and I don't see it.
Is it only available on SLI enabled hardware builds?
Or is it a common reference to a set of display options being made by people who haven't actually played the game that DON'T EXIST?
Here is an extremely detailed breakdown of the visual settings for Crysis. Done by people who clearly seem to know what they are talking about:
http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_6.html
Compare each of the FOUR visual modes in each of the Advanced Options. It also provides a list of excellent ways to optimize performance without simply swapping out video cards or adding extra ones.
Anyone who's playing the game would probably benefit by checking it out. It will help you squeeze out better performance.
Anyone who hasn't played the game, but keeps referencing it as though they were subject matter experts on the graphical capabilities, needs to read it before trying to spit out a legitimate opinion not based upon first hand experience.
^greenmedic I believe that there is a mod that enables this. Idk, because the highest I could get it to run is high on most settings and very high on some settings.
