I gotta admit that was one of my favorite parts...

And on the ending. It was probably my favorite ending to any metal gear.  I mean when big boss grap snakes hand a hugs him i was just like wow. I dont think i will ever forget his last words "This is good, Isnt It?"

I preferred MGS3's ending debriefing.
It was much more emotional.

MGS4 wins over everything else though.
Especially the fist fight on top of OuterHaven with the changing music and health meters, I had goosebumps.
And when Ocelot said his "You're pretty good" line again at the end with his MGS3 voice on the background. That was awesome. T_T

This game is brimming with Nostalgia and fanservice of the old games.

I thought Hideo shouldn't have included the ending at the end after the credits. I kind of felt like that it was included in the game just to tie up loose ends and kind of ruined the dramatic effect of when Snake killed himself. It also didn't make sense because I thought the whole reason Snake was going to kill himself was because the new strain of foxdie in his body would be released and turn him into a walking biological weapon so the whole ending cutscene didnt really make sense. I THINK THE ENDING WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER WITHOUT IT.

Did you not listen to the scene? They explained the whole biological weapon thing and why it was no longer a threat.

Yeah, the new FOXDIE is killing the old one so it is no longer a threat. But no one knows when the new one will start mutating and become a threat.

However, that said, Otacon told Snake at the beginning that he only has a year to live (because of the terminating genes the Patriots had put in his body). However, if he wants, Kojima would surely find a way out of that.

Oh my bad Big Boss kinda has a monotone voice and by that time in the game I was really tired (it was 3 in the morning) so I musta missed it. Is that what they were talking about with the fox-alive thing?

FOXALIVE is the name of the worm Naomi and Sunny co-wrote in order to destory the military-controlling abilities of the Patriots system.

spoilers following, even though that is obvious by thread title...

I believe the new foxdie that Drebin injected is killing off the mutating old foxdie that was to cause him to become a WMD. I believe Otacon or Naomi said that there is no guarantee that the new foxdie won't eventually also mutate.

Like most of the game, it parallels MGS1. Basically, Snake is being told he can live, just like the end of MGS1. The difference is that the aging due to being cloned doesn't give him more than a year...or was it 6 months...whichever.

The solution could easily be a process to reverse aging due to cloning, but Kojima has said that a future MGS would not star Solid Snake, and that's the way it should be after that game and how it ended.

The only thing that upset me was Meryl ending up with Johny, but that is pretty ironic.

what a happy ending

I don't really have anything to say, since I haven't played the game and don't plan to get it either. I don't even own a PS3. I just thought it would be a cool thing to write something blackened out lol.

BTW, I think Snake is an old fart, which is cool, and he is a smoker, which is also cool.

I would have enjoyed the ending better if:

1. Snake died
2. Snake reverted to his old self (as in young again)
3. Meryl didn't have such huge man shoulders/arms

Other than that, it sucks that this pretty much axes Snake's career (as Kojima promised) since he'll probably die off 6 months after and is in no shape to fight anymore. BigBoss returning wasn't much of a surprise though.
