Nintendo was probably planning on releasing a kinda deluxe Wii with rechargable Wii Mote, wireless nunchuck and other stuff like storage and dvd player and they're making a stand as Nyko is slowly making these components available prematurely.
Either that or Nintendo is being greedy and trying to claw some of that 21 million back that they've just been taken for.
