i am a huge anime fan, and for me the robotech series is the greatest anime series ever made. is anyone here looking forward to the live-action movie that is in developement, and if so are you gonna see it when it comes out. i am, just was curious to see if anyone else here loves the series like i do and wants to see this movie. 

I read the robotech series and watch every episode of all the series and currently watching macross frontier (which I think every fan of robotech should watch snce it has alot of similarities to the original).I just have one question is it true that Tobey Maquire is writer/star of the upcoming movie?

He is not the writer, but he is going to star in it. They just got a guy named Lawrence Kasdan to script it. He helped with the scripts for Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Unfortunately he also had a hand in Dreamcatcher. The film could turn out to be pretty good, but it would need a huge budget though.

I haven't been actively looking for information on it for a long time though, so I didn't hear about this movie before, but sadly I'm worried it'll be like the Sentinels, they'll start working on it, but never finish. I am interested though. Do you have any links to places with info?
