Hey naz, not that Star Ocean 4 was announced, have you decided which system (360 or PS3) you´ll get?

PS3 first, but with the SO4 announcement I'll own a 360 by the end of this year as well.  Should have my PS3 by the end of July.

MGS4 to go along with that PS3?

And it doesn't seem quite the doom and gloom for third party software.

It isn't. This is just legend's way of passively trolling.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Yes, that will be my first purchase with the console.  Well that and Planet Earth on Blu-ray.

Its third party devs own fault, they make shit games, spending little time and money on them and then get pissed that they dont sell as well as Nintendo games, who spend time and money making quality games.

Third parties, go make some decent games then Nintendo people will buy them.

wow, way overtracked.

Let's be serious, puzzle games has never really sold well in any platform.

A game like Bloom Box would sell far better at Wal Mart and Toys R US.  Hmmm, 2 big chains that NPD doesn't track.

I don't think VGC overtracked it, I think NPD undertracked it.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Boogie's poor sales were allegedly blamed on poor marketing already, it looks like EA's marketing team has some catching up to do.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

There were 3 third party Wii games in the top 20... GHIII (still), We Ski and Game Party.

For the HD consoles, there was two versions of GTAIV, COD4 for the 360 (still), and Haze for the PS3.

PS2 and PSP each had a version of Iron Man, and PS2 also had GHIII.

The other 10 games were first party. 9 of them for Nintendo systems, plus God of War II.

So from that limited view, things for third parties on Wii don't seem worse than for anything else. DS was the only system without a third party charter, and Wii actually had 3 to 2 on 360, PS3 and PS2.

With 2 versions of LEGO Indy, GH Aerosmith for Wii, GH DS, GHIII, Rock Band for Wii, plus the ability of odd games like We Ski to chart in the top 20, Wii and DS should do very well on the third party front in June.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
