Forums - Nintendo - The conduit will run in 30 fps... not 60 fps WAIT WHAT?!!

haha. That's the problem with most myths. They are only partially fact.

The issue between human eye perception and 24 fps is simply that at 24 fps the motion becomes smooth enough to be accepted by the brain. We can detect smoother animation well beyond 24 fps but 24 fps is the minimum required to fool the eye so that it not longer sees the individual frames themselves and instead believes that it is seeing a single constant image.

Atleast  you didnt fall for that 24 fps crap myth since the beginning. I only never believe that myth when my PC can work in 60 fps.

I don't get it, I've seen the video, it doesn't look good! From a gameplay standpoint even!

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I can't vouche for anyone, but I'm thinking they just can't afford better textures, I'm hoping that the game looks good, as in not super mudy textures like most every other shooter on the Wii while still having super fun elements of fun that shooters have, all while bringing the shooter feel on the Wii.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

REALLY? But I've seen the difference the moment the video compares 60 fps and 24 fps alternately. 24 fps have lag features compared to 60 fps.

I foresee that it won't matter in the end, as Conduit will end up with a 7.1 average on GR. That's the future for you, right there. Nice huh.

This isn't really true.  I can show you one frame per hour of an empty room with each frame increasing the level of dust buildup and it would look as smooth as silk.

I understand that fundamentally what you're saying is sound but I'm really trying to help people understand that the required frame rate for something to look smooth is dependant on how gradual the changes are from frame to frame.

The only real caviat to this is that once you're up around 60 FPS just about everything you would look appropriately smooth because the frames are being displayed at a sufficient speed to overwhelm the vast majority problems that would be noticeable at lower framerates.

Anyway, this is a game that run in 120-200 fps:

pretty smooth eh? even it isnt a HD game. Anyway, really sorry in this thread but I just cant accept a 30 fps in a first person shooter game. Im playing Special Forces in our PC before I enjoyed it first but I turn away from the game a month later because of the frame rates. Its 24-30 fps max. I might aswell play CS.

For me, in FPS the framerate was more important than visuals even how outdated the graphics were as long as it have good framerate its fine with me. I even appreciate old dos FPS such as Wolfenstein 3-d and Doom because its running in 60 fps or more at last atleast in our PC.

@happysquirrel----> 60 fps should be really the standard. Thats why SMG and Metroid Prime 3 was in 60 fps, though I doubt Mario Kart to be in 60 fps I think its 30 fps max. I still dont get it why sacrifice a good framerate for good visuals, visuals isnt everything.

I wonder if that video would look even better if you viewed it from a source other than YouTube, which has a max of 30 fps.

Incorrect.    24 fps is the point at which the individual frames are no longer individual images to the average person.  We can detect smoothness of animation well beyond 24 fps.

Otherwise we'd never have a game at 60 fps.  EVER.
