Forums - Nintendo - The conduit will run in 30 fps... not 60 fps WAIT WHAT?!!

But its amazing how a human brain can do, before even 10 or 20 years ago, people are afraid of 60 fps wether on videos or video games because our eyes cant take it but now 60 fps was the standard in most of PC games. And now most high end PCs can take 120 fps I wonder how our brain can pass the limit?

I'd hate to see the game running at 60fps if the pics at IGN are from a build of the game that is aiming for 30fps.

Same old troll, but fails as always, this time failed real hard.

I hear he had a very rough childhood.

Just look at his family picture:

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

The reason this is moot is that home consoles have fixed amounts of RAM. PC gamers can add as much as they need to get higher framerates (unless it's Crysis). Consoles only have what they have. This is why 60fps is still uncommon.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Oh man, this topic has gone too far. :p For christ's sake people, it's about the number of frames p/s in a game. It all comes down to the fact that the developer chose to go with 30 instead 60 fps, in order to incorporate more visual flair. A better developer might've been able to do the same at 60 fps, but HVS hasn't. It's like that. Not gonna change. Deal with it. Geez, you people have GOT to have something better to do with your time. :p

Huh?

People weren't afraid of 60 FPS as far as I know.

As for PCs hitting 120 FPS yes there some older games that can be pushed into ridiculous frame rates but in a lot of cases this is capped by the software itself at 60 and in even more cases its capped by the monitor's refresh rate.

There simply hasn't been any evolution in our ability to see higher frame rates.  There has however been in evolution in our technology allowing us to more consistently produce higher frame rates.

^What he said.

Vertical synchronization restricts the frame rate on PC games to be equal to your monitors refresh rate.

The only real benefit to turning v-sync off is to benchmark your graphics cards.

@SC- My specs sorry if it takes too long someone using the PC:

1 GB RAM
2.4 GHZ Pentium D dual core
Nvidia GEFORCE 7300/7200 GS 512 MB

Anyway, I can only have COD 4 30 fps on this spec, if its possible to play Crysis here let me know.

@sqrl----> So does it mean gamers especially a professional gamer have better perception than a ordinary people?

All you need is a little bit more ram and a better graphics card and then you could play it on low.

@Garcian Smith

You do realize you were agreeing with me through almost your entire post?Except for the part of your post where you finally had a argueing point of most Wii games being 60fps not 30fps.

Honestly I thought what I was saying was very easy to read which apparantly it wasn't but basically read Viper's last post about progressive scan and resolution.

For the record resolution affects clarity, frame rates affects how many whole images your seeing per second. Those two things are only a portion of what makes graphics good or bad. That's as clear as I can be, if you still see something you just are acheing to argue in that, I'm sorry.

I can't argue your ONLY objection to my post mainly because I'm on my Ps3's browser and I can't commit to research while I'm on it - I'm too lazy to do that.

Also your condecending tone should only be applied if you have something to prove - which would probably mean you think I'm better than you in some way, thank you. =) I try my hardest to stick with topics and say only what I know.

The following things you said are total nonsense:

what that guy is saying is that Conduit will run at 480i, so Wii owners with component cables won't get a difference for 480p.

This guys just saying it will be Standard Definition and run at 30fps or in short 480i.

Gosh, kinda like every other Wii game.

First of all, the Conduit will almost certainly run at 480p widescreen, how you even get the idea it would run at 480i is beyond me. Also, 90% of the Wii games run at 480p, not 480i as you claim.

480p can run at 30 to 60 fps while 480i is usually 60fps. Most Wii games run on 480i, I remember reading why components aren't packaged with the Wii which dealt with Nintendo thinking the adoption rate for HD isn't high enough to demand it. That's all that is He's saying the game will run at 30fps, he never clarified that it would be 480p 4:3 or 16:9 (What that has to do with it is beyond me, but your bringing it up.) For the record, most PR, Developers come out and say this game will be running at this resolution. explaining 480p in runtime is different from explaining 1080i vs 1080p, Progressive at that resolution goes hand in hand with 60fps for 480p usually a number comes after. He should of said 480p30 then that would be it. If what I'm saying still doesn't make sense to you I'm sorry. I'm also sorry for the late replay, I've been playing Persona 3 F O.o

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

dib8rman is correct.

I'll breakdown the numbers.

480 = The total number of horizontal lines of resolution displayed on screen.
p = Progressive scan. Means the TV itself will draw all 480 lines at once every frame instead of all odd frames and then even frames (interlaced).
30 = The frame rate rendered by the Wii itself. It will draw and submit the images 30 times per second.
