Forums - Gaming - Mega Man 9 Confirmed! Yeah!

Let's praise they use a half decent voice acting team for the western localization. Megaman games are so notoriously raped in this regard.

Bring back X before this trash. >_>

Time to put your money where your mouth is, Capcom. Wii or bust.

I didn't know we had already seen anything.  Seems a bit early to be placing any sort of value judgment on the quality, don'tcha think?

I thought he was referring to the original series in general, in which case he must die a painful death within the next 24 hours. There's also the fact that X has had his day(s), with X8 and the X remake on PSP being the most recent. Bring back classic.

Of course, I came to terms a long time ago with the fact that there would never be a Mega Man 9 so I won't believe this until I see the game. That PSN/XBLA thing sounds wacky to me too, because we've been hearing *strong*rumors for the past year about a new Mega Man for the Wii, with people going as far as to type up fake Capcom release schedules with the game on there. With the 2D revolution on the Wii with Wario Land, Castlevania, Kirby, Oboro Muramasa, etc. I don't really see why Capcom would miss out. Then again, it makes too much sense which is probably why it won't happen.

Nice. The main series still is my favorite.

Wait their was a Megaman 8?

The series kind of went downhill after 6, so don't worry about not ever knowing about 8. =P

the X series would be cool to bring back as well, as long as they made it like X or X2. I hated all the megaman X games after X2.

Then again I really like how the regular Megaman series really relies on knowing the boss's weakness. In the X series and the other more recent games, it doesn't seem to matter as much.

X was more about reflexes. They gave him dash, wall-climb, dash-jump...etc which made it very easy to dodge pretty much anything. You could beat just about any boss with your regular X-Buster if your reflexes were up to the task.

The original Megaman games didn't have that, you had your jump and slide (in some Megamans not even slide) so it was a bit more challenging due to movement limitations.

Still, I look forward to seeing Dr. Wily and Protoman once more.

Yes, and that's what I loved about the X series. The dash jumping and wall sliding was brilliant. I can't put my finger on it, but something after the second game changed and I lost interest in it. The first two were amazing though.

It will be fun to see all the crazy colored bosses once again from the original series.

I disagree. I think the series started going down hill after 4 with 7 being the best game since 4.

I agree. I'd say the same for X too, in that it started dropping then went back up (with X8 being the best in recent times).

In the end this is just Capcom trying to rehash an old franchise.

I guess making new franchises is just too scary a proposal this generation.

How does Mega Man not fit on consoles other than Wii? Its never been on wii. I predict PSN XBLA WiiWare DS/PSP

Does it count as a rehash if they haven't done anything with it in 10 years?

Sorry but is spyborgs dark void and lost planet new? I could argue they brought the most new franchises.
