Forums - Website Topics - Mods: Can We Have Some New Weekly Polls?

I didn't really think about it until I saw Fishy Joe's thread about the current poll, but this poll has been up for months. We definitely need a new one. I for one miss the weekly polls and would like to see some new ones.

If there is a pretty important one, like the one that is currently up, I think it would probably be fine with everyone if it was up for a month or so, but I think it is reasonable to ask for a new poll at least once a month.

Thanks, and everyone else on the site is more than welcome to suggest another solution or offer anything else they have to say.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I don't think I have ever seen a new poll every week.

Also, is there a way to add a 'Polls' tab where you can simply view the older polls.

And yeah, a new poll every week would be nice.

Never going to happen....

I even pmed ioi (and had a good response from him) regarding helping out with the poll.

The bottom line....it's not important and ioi regrets ever putting the damned thing on the site.

Obviously it is a great tool to get a pulse of the community....and could even help with tracking. But, sadly, nothing has ever been done to make it a dynamic part of the site.

I even suggested tandem threads for the poll....as well as analysis of the results.

This was all before the contributors were brought in...and I figured that at least a few of them were being brought in for that specific task.

But ...nothing.

And the real reason we have no new polls...

People let threads like these fall from the front page without even a tear.

when you bring it under attention also make a few new polls

Wrong.

Both my previous threads about this subject did just that....and never with any results.  The only thing that ever got a new poll up was MontanaHatchet bugging ioi (as he is known to do).

But over time, even ioi became immune to Hatchet's proddings.
