Forums - Microsoft - Can Lost Odyssey be the first HD JRPG to sell 1 million copies?

http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=7637

The title is currently on 720,000 and sold 12,000 last week.  If you factor in the holiday season, one could potentially forsee the game hitting a million buy the end of the year.  To do this, it would need impressive legs.

However, the other thing that could come into play is the outside chance that either Infinite Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia or (if it comes out this year) Final Fantasy XIII in Japan could pip Lost Odyssey at the post.

Lost Odyssey will reach that total of 1 million by the end of 2008.

Erase FFXIII from the list Square Enix say they don´t want DQIX and FFXIII in the same fiscal year and DQIX is launched late this year.

I think the titles sales have been very impressive. They prove that JRPG's can sell on the Xbox 360 and its almost certainly profitable in its own right.

I think it will do similarly to Heavenly Sword. It will reach 1M but take along time to do so.

I agree.  Good marketing didn't hurt either.  People shouldn't think that JRPGs can sell on the 360 anymore.  That's nonsense.  As long as more and more JRPG fans purchase a 360, well probably see JRPGs that not only sell as well as LO but sell better, too.

well I fully plan on buying it.... just not at 65€ :p (I don't mlind waiuting end life, I have a bunch of PS2/GC/Wii games waiting on the shelf)

Unless it get a price drop around the holidays, I don't see it happening.  The new "hot" always buries the old, and SE has the name behind their RPGs, wheather you like them or not.

I'm just saying...

I hope not really hate that game there is better JRPGS on 360.

i think Lost Odyssey will sell a million, but i don't know if it can sell 1m before FFXIII comes out. I am glad however that it is saling well.
