Would be a brilliant way to capture the casual market, Microsoft.

Really.

I mean to download the song you like off the internet then to buy the CD... Sorry but I can't Edit my posts.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Retailers would absoloutley hate this and probably heavily support any console which didn't opt for the digital routue.

Far too early for a digital console.

I can see the future having a set-top box, with something like remote play. So you buy this thing, plug it into your TV, pay 20-30 bucks a month, and you instantly have 300 games to play.

I don't expect it to be the next generation however. Maybe the one after that.

Yeah but then you'd have the same problem cable owners have now. But instead of channels and watch. It'd be you have 300 games and nothing to play. LOL

"M$ would have to commit themselves to selling cheap mini titles to pull this off anytime soon, unless the world enters a really major energy crisis first -- and then you're probably not going to be wanting a new, power hungry XBox anyhow. You're gonna want some new farming tools, to help feed your family instead. =) "

Which is exactly why Nintendo will be the first company out of the three to be truly successful with digital distribution. Just the next step in the strategy of disruption.
