@Bod. This is his tenth awful thread. And his tenth post.

1. I don't have the money
2. Lack of Games I really care about.
3. My PS2 still serves honorably and I would hate to put it on the back burner.
4. I have a DS and a PSP between the two there's more then enough games to keep me happy.
I guess that's it.
Boycotting the following:
1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.
2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.
3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.
4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games. If that were the case they'd own a PS3.
5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.
6. Boycotts: Their so lame.
Pretty much purely based on Price.
I don't mind the lack of games, I know that due to the fact that this is the successor of the PS2, it will eventually get some great games on it. Particularly some of my favorite JRPG's that the Wii is killing me with the shortage of good RPGs.
I'm not a Sony hater, I loved the PS2, PS1, but the PS3 is just a bit out of my price range.

Shooters: Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted, Resistance, Unreal Tournament III (timed) Fighters: Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword Racers: Motorstorm, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue Sports: MLB 08 The Show, Hot Shots Golf 5 Other: Singstar, Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk
All Exclusive Titles that are 80%+ (except Heavenly Sword which is a 79), in categories. Theres something there for everyone. Is it really because of the price of it?
I can't deny its a high price. But is it really that much more when you factor in all that you get? PS3 - $400/$500...Built in Blu Ray, Wifi, free online 360 - $299/$350/$450....Then assuming your into online gaming, its more like - $360/$410/$510...and who isn't into online gaming this gen? Wii - $250...No way around it, Wii is the cheapest
Or is it really becausei t's just Sony and you have a hatred for Sony and don't want to buy their products?
This is the only reason that makes sense to me really. People are fooled into thinking the 360 is way cheaper than PS3 when it really isn't. Brand Loyalty to Nintendo or Microsoft are the only logical reasons in my opinion not to buy PS3
If it's the third, then that means there will be no reason whatsoever you will buy a PS3 in the near future and consider you an MS or Nintendo fanboy. |
Okay, you got me, OP. I'm actually a covert MS-Ninty fanboy. Every waking hour of my life is consumed by an intense loathing of Sony. My hatred burns so deeply...
Seriously though, the games just don't interest me.
oh so its his 10th awful thread........and now I know why he NEVER replies to the posts
I do actually want one for blu ray and some good games, but will only get it once its under 200.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

For me its a mix of the first two and a few others. lets begin -
to date, the only exclusive on the PS3 that interests me is ratchet and clank. Everything else that i would want on a PS3 is on a 360 and then some, so when it comes to games the PS3 does not have enough going for me to warrant a 400 dollar purchase.
Regarding that 400 dollar purchase - it bothers me that top quality ps3 games require a hard drive installation of what looks to be 5gb or so on average - meaning that ultimately only 7 games can be installed on the hard drive without deleting them or buying an external. So while the installs make the loading in the game faster, i've heard that it only really cuts about 7 seconds of loading - the 30 minutes i have to wait and the storage on the hard drive do not make it worth that - to me at least.
Also - it doesn't help that games that i actually look forward to on the PS3 turn out being crap ( Lair and Haze, two games i was actually looking forward to). So that surely doesnt make me trust the upcoming releases until i hear what other people say first-hand.
Also - i dont care for HD. its pretty, but i dont need it (and i dont own an HDTV either way). so the entire blu-ray argument is moot as far as i'm concerned.
Also - i dont own a PS2. I wanted one, sure, but i never had the money for one before while still getting the other games i wanted. so i would simply buy the occasional game and play it at my cousins. The lack of backwards compatibility on all but the expensive counterpart means if i want a PS3, i'd have to fork over 500 bucks instead of 400. No thanks.
At this point in time, the only reason why i actually want a PS3 is so that i can load linux on to it and use it as a computer. But, because it does not emulate certain video cards (or something like that) it won't play the computer games i'd actually want to play. so it'd be a 500 dollar linux paperweight, considering i dont do media editing, so that extra power will be completely unnecessary in my case.
Now, if there is a mistake i made in the above then please point it out. i actually would like reasons to buying a PS3 other than Final Fatansy and Metal Gear. three games won't sell me a console, so yer.
um..stuff
sony made my life hell they kiiled my cat stole my money i just hate them and i'll never buy anything they make :)

Plenty of people refuse to buy (or at least say they do) a 360 because of hate for Microsoft so it's only fair to suggest that it could at times work the other way.
For me it's simply because there aren't enough quality exclusives right now that I'm interested in to justify the price, so I guess it's a combination of 1 and 2.
