Sad that a lot of RPG gamers only play FF, KH or Pokemon;

I am playing now the Shin Megami Tensei serie and damned it is so good I feel sad that so many PS2 owners never gave it a chance.

 Yo're right that many people never gave these games a chance, now they're acting like RPGs are "the second coming of Jesus" on this website.

I have actually spent more time on Persona 3 than any other RPG I ever played. i don't really like KH. It seems popular because of disney characters. I agree that it is a good series but I know many more RPGs that blow KH out of the water. SMT:Nocturne, DDS and DDS2 for sure.

This is what 1up have to say about the event,

I firmly believe that, despite Sony's parade of "we don't pay for exclusives" comments over the years, that they have firmly supported S-E in the development of FFXIII (and it's ilk) in order to retain console exclusivity. I'd be very surprised if that changed. I think S-E is content to let tri-Ace do the heavy lifting in supporting the 360 with its content, and I was pretty underwhelmed by the 'RPG conference' as a whole. No real surprises. I mean, I love tri-Ace, and think these announcements are great, but it felt like the 360 got the B-team, while the A-team are free to frolic away on the PS3. Just my two cents.

So true   So4 and LR will come to PS3 but what about games which S-E best teams are making? They will never port it to 360.

 Yeah, Atlus games always become rare 1 second after release so they are never on the shelf.

I have a lot of those games :D my rpg collection is vast, although not as vast as I wish it was. Damn expensive habit.

But yeah, I was planning on buying a ps3 in late 2009 to pick up the ps3 rpgs, but at this rate, it looks like I might be able to stick with just my 360. Lost interest in the FF series after X, but if FFXIII turns out to be a good game (not holding my breath), I can probably borrow a ps3 just to play through it.

Happy days indeed :D long live the jrpg!

I consider myself a somewhat hardcore rpg fan. But, hardcore jrpg fans do not make up the majority of the population thats why it does not have as large of sales numbers as other genera. Now, to provide you with my rpg background....
I have played Lunar 1 and 2, I have played all the suikodens except 4 and gotten all 108 stars, I have played every ff except I and II, I have played DQ 8, persona (just the first), chrono trigger, i have played all of .hack gu, and have played alot of the "snes" rpgs (secret of many + evermore, secret of mana 2, bahamut lagoon, earthbound)

You seem to have skipped many excellent games in the PS generation. no mention of Xenogears, vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, Ar Tonelico, SMT anything, Xenosaga, etc. You seem to be more in tune with the SNES RPG arena which I skipped lol

 ya, i have played xenosaga (look at my games list on profile :P) xenogears and parasite eve, i just didn't list everything. Vagrent story I have not played though. I never owned most of the PS JRPGs though. My friend bought all of them and  I borrowed. On snes and PS2 though I bought almost all the ones I played.

Now Playing: The Witcher (PC)

Consoles Owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Boy, DS

Pretty comprehensive list. I can't think of anything to add. I doubt that anyone on this site has played all the games on this list yet we complain about the lack of RPGs. My next game would probably be the first Shadow hearts
