Forums - Nintendo - Attn Multi-console owners: WHo else is giving up on wii?

Now's the worst time to give up on the Wii. Third-party support is really picking up speed. Developers are beginning to show many of the projects they started after it became a success.

Just look at that list 11ht11 posted. I'm interested in at least 30 of those games, and it's not even a complete list of what's been announced. Plus E3's a month away. I'm actually upset about all this because now I don't know if I should buy a PS3 or save that money for Wii games.

Im not literally giving up on the system but everything I wanted has basically come out and I no longer feel the need to track the consoles growth. Who else that owns all the consoles fells this way? I mean everything Microsoft is doing seems like catch up to me. :/

Like since i have Wii-Fi and PSN i know what an online service should really be like, free. And I know what real gaming should be like. Not saying that the 360 doesn't have any, but all the deliciously good ones are already out and I just don't see any really catching my for the future. If any gems or just outrageously awesome titles come along in the consoles future Ill be sure to snag those, but i have given up the hype, hope, and follow of 360.

LOL, I feel you man, and the OP.

Good, give your console to someone who appreciates it.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles fan for life. <3

I used to have a X360. Well, I give up on it, but still am with my little white box ^^

I gave up on the Wii when MK (disappointed) was released. Since I could make back the money, I sold it.

Right now, there is very little IMO for me on the Wii that isn't already on GC + PS3 (PS2 incl.) + 360.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

It's fun to see how haters suddenly dismiss every third party effort on the Wii, when a troll starts this kind of thread. I feel bad for them... desperation is evident.

Fullfilled Prophecies

I haven't given up on the Wii and I don't think I ever thought about giving up on it even though I am seriously disappointed by its lackluster third party games.

I play games of all genres but I mostly play puzzle games. The Wii has some decent puzzle games such as Zack and Wiki and Dr. Mario Rx to keep me going. But at times I want to play dark, mature games such as Eternal Darkness. The Wii doesn't even have a few good ones. The Wii needs some serious AAA mature titles that are similiar to Metal Gear Solid 4 or GTA 4. I think when third parties put their best teams to make AAA games for the Wii is when the Wii will truly shine. But as far as I know that's not happening for the most part.

Another big disappointment that I have with the Wii is that there is no voice chat and the stupid Wii Friends codes. Nintendo thinks every person who plays a Wii is a child.

If I were to rate the Wii at this point in time I would give it a 7 out of 10.

Fair enough. I'll look into MAd World a little more, and give it a shot (at least a rent) if its decent. At the end of the day, I guess its all relative for me.

I DO play my Wii, but it pales in comparison to the play time the 360 gets.

Primarily the Wii is used when other people come around, although there is something to be said for that kind of accessibility.

Are you buying Tales of Vesperia? If so, but Tales of SYmhponia: Dawn of the New World for Wii or I will haunt you at night. :P Buy the first ToS on the GC too!

My girlfriend just picked up ToS Gamecube for her Wii, so I may borrow that and see what its like.

Tales of Vesperia is certainly a possible purchase for me as well.

If  they are both good, I'll get ToS Wii.

Before defending the Wii. I would like to know what the OP has in his/her library. All 3 home consoles have their awesome titles. The question is whether you bought all the z games. Oh wait...

I know how you feel. For me there is so far not a single Wii game that has not disappointed me in one way or the other. I'm a long time fan of many Nintendo franchises but none of their Wii iterations are even worthy of a 9 in my book.

That said I'm keeping my eyes on the system for future games that may finally deliver the promised experience as well as the Virtual Console which is truly the aspect that gets the most playtime from me.

I wouldn't call the Wii an outright disappointment up to now but it is certainly a console that is severely under potential.
