PSP is so awsome though... but yes, it has very little in the way of RPGs. THe only series I know about is the legend of heroes series, which is kinda mediocre. I would lol if they made a game called Legend of Heroes: Untold Legends

Lord no, hack that bad boy and then install every emulator on Gods green earth on it and then have hundreds of JRPGs to play. It cost me 20 bucks to get the extra battery to turn into a Pandora and then 5 bucks for the memory stick to turn into a magic memory stick.
Then you will have all the functionality of a PSP, Videos, Music, Internet and UMD games... and the ability to play anything from the Amiga to PS1/N64 games.
I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

Bu what if he already played a lot of past jRPG from the Amiga to PS1/N64 games and want to play new jRPG's? You can't play DS games on the PSP, specially without a touchscreen.

Just trade in the damn PSP, and be amazed by the beauty of the DS! You'll get the biggest Pokémon game ever made, more than a dozen of Square-Enix AAA JRPG's, then another like 40-50 othe JRPG's, DQIX and Sonic Chronicles are coming, and you can buy all the niche Japan-only RPG's.
And if you want a little break from all the random-encounters, battle-menu's and leveling, you can buy masterpieces such as Advance Wars, New Super Mario Bros., Phantom Hourglass, etc.
You won't regret your trade-in, I promise!
@lemmiwinks: I know it's kinda illegal to discuss here, but are N64 roms running fluidly on the PSP yet?
@emmiwinks
I want new JRPG's now.....all those are been there done that
The Crimson and Black is a nice color for you first DS... the red is very pretty, but you have to see it in person. Pictures doesn't make justice to the red color.

It sounds like you've already made up your mind, but if you're looking for JRPGs then the DS is definitely the way to go right now (followed by the 360, of all things...). Most of them suck, mind you, but there are still more gems on it than any other system. As an added bonus, you can use it to play the GBA games too, so if you're alright with selling your PSP, I say you go for it.
xbox 360 is also very good for JRPGs in case you were considering that aswell.
@Hawkeye
as I said that would mean selling the PS3 or wii....which I can't do due tot he game on those two platforms appeal to me more
DS is also very cheap to buy
@Fernando
wow that colour looks hot!
hopefully its available in UK

Im not sure exactly the legality, I think we cant post links to how to do it or where to get hte ROMs and emulators.
But they just made a new N64 emulator that is supposed to run much better. I dont have it on mine, just NES, SNES and a couple Playstation 1 games, like X-Com baby!
As for the DS, there is a DS emulator for the PSP, hell if I know how they make it work though.
