It´s just the internet gave voice to a lot of previously 'mute' people, and they bring out one of the stupid sides of human nature.

They're in the same Malstrom-generation: 1st: Everything before NES, so Atari 2600, and gaming computers like MSX and Commodore 64 2nd: NES, and the entire console legacy folowing it: Sega Master System, Genesis, SNES, PS1, Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, GameCube, Xbox 360, PS3, etc. 3rd: The Wii, and the consoles that are going to follow in its footsteps in the future. |
Yes but quite frankly Malstrom is an idiot. Hes just another Nintendo fanboy who happens to have a way with words.
I blame it on the rise in popularity of the internet over the last 10+ years. There were still plenty of sega fanboys during the dying days of the dreamcast, you just didn't hear about it because they couldn't gather at a place where the world could see and hear their opinions. Actually, any sega platform over the last 15 years can fall under that umbrella.
Internet has two things going for it:
1) World wide audience
2) Anonymity
Plus there's also trolls that make senseless comments just to cause a reaction.
Maybe the fanboys have curved penises and so their viewpoint is skewed to one side or the other.
@ Gnosis: Little bit of sarcasism from me I must confess with my last comment.
Yeah the 16bit war. I remember that. I was enlisted!
My point is that the Internet has opened up a whole new battlefield where fanboyism can reach another level.
as simple examples.
Now your point of view can be expressed in words, pictures, sounds and video all controlled by you and censored by no-one

Well it's simple really, the Wii is the greatest console that ever existed and Nintendo reclaimed it's crown as market leader in all major regions both handheld and home console, this resulted in an inevitable uproar amongst the internet as 360/PS3 nerds freaked out.
=)

On this site...
Sony fanboys are unhappy they aren't #1 this generation.
Nintendo fanboys are happy they are #1 this generation but unhappy that third parties don't take them seriously enough.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
