Forums - Sales - Techu 4 first part of a Trilogy on the Wii !!

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=190426

thats right, Tenchu 4 is supposed to the the first in a trilogy of Tenchu games coming out on the Wii.

A lot of Jap. developers have started to see the economics of developing a game for the Wii.

360/PS3 development suffers from heavy investements and a  sub-par Jap. market for HD consoles.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

The thread title is misleading. The platforms of the other two Tenchu games have not been announced yet.

Great, Japanese devs will develop most games on the Wii. Too bad for the HD consoles, it will sink them more than they already are.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Do we know whether the game is any good and, therefore, whether this is a good thing?

Well, maybe Tenchu 4 will only be time exclusive with sequels not for Wii if this game does not sell? I hope the Japanese install base buy this game good!

Yes they have.  From Software, the publisher, confirmed it during the press event.  The game will be a trilogy across Tenchu 4, 5 and 6.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

@Shameless: It may or may not end up being 'great', but it's developed by the guys who did the original Tenchu, which was apparently awesome--much better than the subpar recent games. But the real point is that we're starting to see third parties put real stock in the Wii--announcing that the next three games in a known franchise will be Wii-exclusive definitely signifies something.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

TenchuZ sucked.  I hope the Wii version returns to the old school quality of the series.
