I don't get this...

T2 was able to ship 11 million copies of GTAIV across 2 consoles... I repeat. 11 million.

Why is Mario Kart short? Please someone explain it to me.

I didn't know T2 was also shipping GTAIV with a wheel.  *sigh*

I LOL-ed.

um.. maybe you should look at it in terms of the company, sure.. take2 has made a lot of copies of gta4, and that is a lot more than nintendo has made of mario kart wii.. but look at the bigger picture.. this is a table of publisher totals from the week of gta4 release onwards

 Week Ending
 Take 2
Nintendo
 2nd May
 60853534450578
 9th May
 1882778 2783801
 16th May
 1036560 2215785
 23rd May
 753151 3080815
 30th May
 557512 2004508
 Total 10315354 14535487

sure this doesn't indicate how many were printed on these weeks from the respective companies.. but maybe this could illustrate for you that nintendo has to be concerned with more than one game, let alone peripheral and console hardwares

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but Mario Kart is sold out online at Amazon, Walmart, Target, Gamestop, Costco and Best Buy. This is crazy, Nintendo needs to get it in gear.

I saw a crapload of MK's at costco last week. They are all gone now. I was also at the Nintendo World Store last friday and they had no MK or Wii Fit, but had a decent stack of Wii's, maybe 20, at the time.

The Costco I worked at has plenty of Mario Kart and they also recently got in a new shipment of several other 1st party Nintendo games.  Anyway, the game is very fun and I'm glad to see that people are still buying it.

Yep, I'm in US and tried to buy it at both Target and Best Buy, but the game was sold out. I'll probably get PSP game tales of Eternia and try mario kart again in a month.MK Wii got kinda low review scores tho so I'm not really that mad that I have to wait.

Ignore the scores: it's a fun game.

On topic: I do think it's absurd that Nintendo is failing to keep up with demand on a game that they should have known would do quite well for itself. I understand there are production difficulties, since factory production is finite and Wii software is selling at a record pace, but Nintendo's been caught off-guard by the Wii's popularity a few too many times for my comfort. I do wish they ramp up production sooner rather than later.
