IMO: Call of Duty 4 and MGS 4 are the best two sequels of all time.

*cough cough* probably shouldn't say this due to the not having played it in english yet, but it's Very promising.

 And that's Mother 3. Even not understanding it at all, there are some awesome parts, and more parts that just make you want more. (Chimera and Sunflowers anyone?) and as for how the humor goes, based on the little bit I've seen from Starmen.net; It looks like it's keeping to the awesome original humor of Earthbound :3

Comparing these games to the one that preceeded them:

Crash Bandicoot 2 - Still think this is the best platformer I've ever played. Love it.

KH2 - Compared to the first, the gameplay was smoother and encorporated cool new things. Story was good too.

Sometimes I really dont know if you are a joke account or really just that delusional.

 Anyway On topic:

For me it is Earthbound, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, Zelda: Link to the Past, GTA 3, Twisted Metal: Black, and of course, Soul Calibur II.
