When Wii does this regularly Superchunk...only then will that situation take place

As I said with COD4, AC, NFS, The football games

this is yet to happen....

Guitar Hero is a mere anomaly right now

That is what I think will happen next year. The majority of multi-platform games will be best sold on Wii.

I really couldn't see the Wii selling any of the games Darth listed more than the other systems. Especially not Madden or Call of Duty. The Wii version of Madden has great legs, but it's still less than the PS2 or 360 versions whose consoles are selling a lot less. The Wii's main advantage is userbase, as you pointed out. But it's going to take a helluva a lot of a userbase advantage to turn some series to the Wii. Lego Star Wars should have theoretically sold better on the 360 in America, where its userbase was larger than the Wii's during the holiday season and for a long period up until now. But look. Now Lego Star Wars has sold twice as much on the Wii as the 360 in America.

Demographics matter a helluva lot more than userbase. Remember the competition between the Xbox and PS2 over the Tom Clancy series? The Xbox version always sold more despite the Xbox having sold vastly fewer consoles.

I believe the best way to test your arguement is sales of the new multiplatform stars wars game. If your right it should sell better on 360 since it  is an action game if your wrong then there are more factors in deciding why a game sells better on a specific system.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

create threads like these everyday bashing the 360 in some way.

how exactly is the OP bashing the 360?

Bets:Missed by 420k I bet leo-j vg$500 that wii will sell 31 million by 7/31/08.  Sorry, I don't think he has enough vg$ to make it with all of u that wish you could. Hit, with room to spare I bet kingofwale a 1-week ban that wii Americas ltd sales>360 Americas ltd sales as of the numbers for week ending 7/05/08 (using vgchartz homepage #s)

Predictions:

Wii will sell 18-20mil by 12/31/07  CHECKWii will sell 45mil+ WW by 12/31/08Wii will surpass PS2 sales WW by 11/17/11 (5yr anniversary)Wii Fit will hit 12mil sales in 2009MKWii+SSBB+Wii Fit+SMG > 50 mil sales by 2010 > gta4+mgs+gt5+ff13+haze+lbp

It will eventually outsell the 360 version but the sales rates of both Wii and 360 versions will continue to fall. Guitar Hero 4 will be out soon.

GH 3 on Wii I guess will pass the 360 version by Xmas.

It has to be remembered that a game that sells 3 million copies over the course of a year isn't nearly as profitable as a game that sells 5 million copies on day one.

The most obvious reason is price drops, but the less noticeable reason is the loss of economies of scale as shipments get smaller, and the cost to retail of maintaining stock and shelf space over longer periods of time.

It isn't the most important factor publishers consider (they'd much rather have legs where the option is NOT to have them), but it is a factor.

Wouldn't this prove that casual games sell on Wii?

You are forgetting other little factors such as development costs.  One game might need to sell 4 million copies to break even, and the other might break even with 200,000.

Any game sells well on the Wii.

Sir,
Your data conflicts with my preconceived FACT that Wii owners just play Wii Sports and then put it in the closet and in the unlikely event they actually buy another game it will only be a Nintendo game.

Therefore I conclude that the Wii sales are the result of PS3 owners who,not being aware that should games were available on the Wii, bought the wrong version and were too ashamed to return it.

Nice graph, but you fail to realize that Guitar Hero Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: World Tour are coming out this year, and both will affect sales of this game negatively. I don't think it'll happen in time for Guitar Hero: World Tour to come out.
