Forums - PC Discussion - Age of Conan Currently Number 5 Top Played Game on XFire

I thing AoC is great. I am having a ton of fun in it, and can see myself playing it for a long time to come.

Games I am looking forward to:

PC: Diablo III, Fallout III, Stacraft 2, Spore, Empire: Total War, American McGee's Grimm

360: Madden 09, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, Blood Bowl

While I trust you 100% believe that, come back in two months and tell me what you think :)

I have said the exact same thing about dozens of MMO's, and many of them get tiring a lot faster then I expected.

Age of Conan is still at number 5 but it has tons more minutes to go before catching up with anything, and it will never catch WoW for sure.

Here are the minutes so far today for the top 10 games.

1. World of Warcraft - 16,472,670
2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Multiplayer - 11,925,487
3. Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer - 6,007,069
4. Counter-Strike: Source - 3,363,503
5. Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - 2,644,781
6. Battlefield 2 - 2,068,424
7. WarCraft 3: The Frozen Throne - 1,686,269
8. Guild Wars - 1,403,286
9. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory - 1,321,428
10. Counter-Strike 1.6 - 847,213

And then just for fun here is Crysis on the chart:

54. Crysis - 198,205

It's rank isn't the best but thats still a pretty good number of minutes in just today.

With 12 million or so users in WoW does that mean that the average person only plays 1.5 minutes each day?

No that means most WoW users don't use XFire.

XFire only has 89,726 users playing WoW per day according to their statistics.

XFire only tracks the time played of people that have XFire and are logged into it while they are playing, so it isn't the best representation of the overal PC market as the service tends to attract people playing certain games and stuff.

If it tracked "looking at porn", that would be #1 I am sure :p

I understand where you are coming from, but I tend to have a pretty good idea when it comes to MMOs. When I get into an MMO I stick with it. The only case where that is not true was PotBS. I loved it, and thought I would be playing it for a long time but quit a few weeks back, and that was because AoC came out.

Not-sticking to an MMO is just a waste of money

Also playing DotA2 beta!

Age of Conan is now only at 7 most played on XFire with Battlefield 2 and WarCraft 3 passing it. WoW remains unaffected.

How do people not tire of WoW within weeks? I was bored to tears at level 47 and simply quit playing and I've not touched it since.
