Forums - Sony - The Cons of the PS3

Note to self - Spartan thinks that having to throw away your controller when the battery is fried and having various blue tooth gagdets interfere with the controller are good things...

IIRC Sony will replace the battery for free (might be wrong about the price).  I'd much rather have something I can just charge than dealing with batteries.  Can't speak for the 360 controller, but my wii remotes eat through a ton of batteries even though it doesn't get as much use.  I should probably just get some rechargeables.

Ok, this is just ridiculous, who doesn't turn on their PS3 with the controller, and why would you want all your controllers to turn on when you power up the system?

thread fails in my opinion. its always compared to the 360 even though the 360 has been out a year longer.

The sixaxis batteries hella last. 360 controllers lack motion controls. Dualshock3 doesn't lack either.

With all the retarded extras you have to buy for 360 to make it match up to a PS3, 360 costs more. Which makes MS's constant claims to have taken in the most $ oveall this gen perverse: they deliberately ran up the price on accessories and then said PS3 was too expensive, when it had all that shit (and more: Blu-Ray) built in.

PS3 (free) online gameplay is smoother overall. Multiple sites agree. Which big site was it that gave CoD4 PS3 the nod over the 360 version in head to head because of the better online gameplay? Can't remember, they did a bunch of 4 on 4 multiplat game face offs recently and PS3 games won most of them. The days of predictably inferior PS3 versions are over. Teh C3LL unlocked but not mastered.

It does need constant dusting to stay beautiful. But it is beautiful, and cool, and quiet. Unlike the ...oh, you already alluded to this stuff...

Actually according to Gamerpro's test, the Sixaxis had the worst battery life...

PS3 online gameplay is smoother?? really? Is that why every time a big game is launched, the PS3 version has network issues??

gebx is a hater. Stop beating up the PS3 and go and play your 360.

gebx you sound very similar to starcraft.

Hmmm more cons ay, here's a few more that annoy me:

Controller charge cord too small. (You can use any size USB A to USB B chord)

Very very poor web browser (worst I've seen on a console). (360 DOESN'T even have one, and the Wii's is essentialy the same)

Games that require download to HDD. (Which makes games run smoother. The 360 would have installs if either A. The core didn't exist or B. The Pro (the most common in the market) was bigger than 20GB)

Having to turn the controller on as well as the PS3. (Considering that when you turn the controller on, the PS3 also turns on....I'm kinda confused at what your getting at here? Grasping at straws? Not even that, because in order to grasp, a MINUTE problem has to exist, and this one does not)

Yours stood out the most to me

They don't... pick up a wiimote or xbox controller and push a button or the big X and they turn on...

The Wiimotes and 360motes turn off when the console is off unlike the PS3 remote <-- thats the con

No need to worry about leaving anything on and draining the battery

I actually like how the controllers don't start up automatically, because I have 3 bunched under my TV, and when I turn it on for movies and stuff I use the remote. So I don't want to have to search through all the controllers and turn off all of them or whichever one  became controller #1 for that day, because I don't want the battery to die out.

Yes Rock_on, I'm starcraft... so are all the 360 fanboys on this site.. cause in reality theres only one really really really rich 360 fanboy who purchased 19 million consoles and has multiple accounts on all forums and sites and spends all his time just doing what I'm doing!!

oh btw, ALL your threads suck... please stop creating threads. If you promise to stop making new threads, I'll retire my account and only visit this site has a guest!!

what do you guys talkin about,,,,you press PS button ,,,it turns your PS3 and that controller on,,,if you want to turn other controllers, you just press the PS button on that controller. When you turn off the console evey single controller will turn off automatically.
