IT was awsome/awful ...
If I remember correctly it was a two part made for television movie; the first part all the characters are children and its pretty freaky, and the second part they're all adults and it loses its edge.
I don't think clowns are scary either. The only one that's a little bit scary is the Joker from Batman. Clowns usually just crack me up.

A lot of people think there is a natural creepiness about clowns; a lot of this comes because clowns are strangers (who are often vagrants) who paint their emotions onto their face and react to what is happening around them in a very counter intuitive way. It is a lot like a guy I worked with who was from Africa (I can't remember the country), and where he is from it is expected for you to smile all the time; the creepiest feeling I have ever had in my life was when he told me his wife had a miscarriage while he had the biggest smile on his face.
I love pennywise, though the movie was pretty dumb, pennywise is awesome. Now if he was Giygas, I wouldn't be surprised.
