At least according to the charts that VGchartz follows.   So basically I see with MGS4 on the horizon, and the buzz from that and the bundle pushing sales worldwide for the PS3 to sell 2.01 million units before the 360 can sell 1.16 million units and the PS3 will hit 15 million (shortly) before the 360 hits 20.

 Who else sees this happening, or do you all think that I'm smoking something good?  Now, I won't go and say exactly how much time this will take and the date it will hit 15 million.    So do you think I'm right?  Wrong? A biased fanboy? Or close, but the 360 barely hits 20 million before the ps3 hits 15?   Or do you see the 360 skyrocketing and hitting 21 million before the ps3 hits 14 million?  Tell me your thoughts.

agreed, doesn't seem like the 360 can ever hit 19m, it's been stuck for a while.

i think it will take some time for 360 to hit 20 million, mabey ps3 can get 14 million before 360 can get 20million, either way the gap is closing and after xmas 2008, the ball game will look very differently

It's had horrible sales thus far this year in comparison to the PS3, and when MGS4 comes out, I can see the Japan market blowing up for the PS3 so they can get their hands on the game and console.

There is no doubt in my mind that the PS3 will beat the 360 to 14 million before the 360 hits 20 million.  MGS4 is out soon.... PS3 sales have been better then the 360 all year long, and will just continue.  

 But I still can see the PS3 hitting 15 million before the 360 hits 20 million.  I think it will be fairly close (within a couple weeks) for both to happen, but the PS3 will get there first.

 And yes, after this Xmas, I really do see the PS3 selling like gangbusters compared to the 360.

15 mill before 360 hits 20mill is generous, I'd say around 14.5 mill give or take a 100,000 before the 360 hits the 20mill mark. This holiday season will let us know if there is still hidden potential for the 360 in the U.S. which I'm iffy about due to the state of the U.S. economy.

I did admit it will be close, but with the boost from MGS4 and a revived Japanese market (selling more then 5k a week) going all out to get their hands on the game will give that extra boost needed for the short term.  

 It seems as though it's been months that the 360 has been in the 18 million sold range.  Or at least it feels like it.

 The US economy, well, it's a crapshoot and American's like me can only hope that it recovers quickly and is stronger by the time xmas arrives.  With teh 360, I really don't know what to expect from it sales wise this xmas... I think sony is ready to bring out the heavy advertising guns and really remind people they want a PS3 and not a 360.

I'd say the PS3 could reach 15.5 Million at the point the 360 reaches 20 million.

I'm pretty sure the PS3 will reach 16 million before the 360 reaches 20.

[edit] Actually, even more.  There's like 10 million people in Japan who want the PS3 and MGS 4 is going to be their reason for getting it.  They won't all get it at once, but many of them will get it quickly so the PS3 could very reasonably hit 17 or even 18 million before the 360 finally crosses that 20 million thresh hold. 

Would it be a "combo-breaker" if I didn't claim the PS3 to reach 20 million before 360 reaches 20?
