Forums - Gaming - I am truly annoyed at the wii

Oh noes Onna is goddamn pissed now lolz,

I am worried about this too.

Its funny ,these nintendo fans are just saying to you dont worry you will get the same games or better innovation is like this but they completely fail to have a point into making the slighest proof about Wii games being better let alone more complex or deep.

Face it:Wii games can be fun(well at least a handful of them) but from a production value point of view they are far worse that PS3-360-PC games.

Thats why I think that ,even if we are a bit worried ,theres nothing to fear.Developers wont embrace the Wii accordingly to its sales ,they will just churn minigames ,casual games ,movie adaptations ,sports games and the such on it...and the good games will keep flowing in the PS3 and 360.Technology drives this business ,and from a technological point of view the Wii is the past ,not the future.

lol anyone can click a Wii game on vgcharts, hell I could go to my friends house and take a picture of his Xbox360 and games, the point is that on the internet short of live video feed you can not and it isn't safe to verify much as 'fact'.

However your argument sais what it sais, I'm not arguing what it sais, "I'm just holding up a mirror." You didn't seem to like it though. Edit @Diomedes Heh, time will tell guy, there will always be a place for shitty ports, crappy mini-game collections and casual garbage on the Wii, some will sell and some wont, but your ignoring one major thing, should these guys leave Nintendo unchecked on the largest userbase of all the system, they are basically doing a + for Nintendo, I mean sure 3rd party support is good, but if your 50 million people are quite fine with Nintendo games and no 3rd parties want to stop it, who's to say Mario FPS wont sell 15 million on it's first month in th next 3 years, and the trend would be the same for all unrivaled games. Meh, pointless to argue so, I guess I could say time will tell, good look with that mentality.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

I don't see how everyone will start making casual games. If there is an overabundance of "casual minigames compilations" and all that, that particular genre will become oversaturated, causing people to be wary about which one they buy when there are so many of them.

As for the NMH sales discussion, save it, I've heard it too many times. No matter what people say about the graphics (EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE NEVER PLAYED IT), they are good enough for me to enjoy it and beat the entire thing on a Blockbuster rental.

Gaming won't just suddenly die because everything is "casual". Not many developers have 100 million dollars to make games like GTA4. The price for making these games are getting higher and higher, causing the ones who can't afford to fund a game so much, to go to the Wii.

They may start off with "casual" crap to get an understanding of the hardware, without suffering large losses like if they funded a hardcore bigger budget new IP which flopped. They have no reason to dive into the pool headfirst, especially if there's a chance that no one in that dev team put water in it.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Nintendo is not affecting the games you listed.

Feel free to try the Wii.  It's got the most great games so far this generation in my opinion. Although I don't play many shooters on consoles anymore, so take it with a grain of salt if that's your favorite genre.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

And one more thing.Usually theres a generation change in consoles because gamers have seen the lenghts core games can go in that concrete generation and wont buy much more of those because repetitive ...and then the new generation comes with more core games ,the same franchises ,and a new techincal/playable level so the core gamer feels new and start buying again in the same numbers.

With the Wii the problem is that even if it had (or has some will say)core games they are so obsolete and offer so little new that is doubtful core gamers will support that.I mean ,Mario Kart Wii ,Mario Galaxy ,Metroid and Brawl can be great core gamers ....but how many steps are they removed from Mario Sunshing ,Smash Bros Melee ,Metroid Echoes ,Mario Kart Double Dash etc? They are last generation games with a next generation input.Wheres the evolution?

@red : To me, this is like saying that the movie Titanic is better than Robinhood Men in Tights or Army of Darkness because it cost more to make.   There's a logical flaw in believing that a higher production value necessitates better games.

@blue : This is something I've noticed and pointed out before.  Logically it would seem like developers would go for the area in which they can make the most money however we are not seeing that.  As long as the 360/PC or PS360 userbases are enough to support the games developers wish to make, that is where it seems they will prefer to go.  Sadly, the ever growing "Wii = kiddie" stigma is not helping this any.

Hmm....where does fear fit into this?

  1. Denial
  2. Anger
  3. Bargaining
  4. Depression
  5. Acceptance

I just don't get why people get so bent out of shape about the Wii being successful.  As I have said from the beginning of this generation when the point was intitially raised, as long as there is profit to be made from the "hardcore" games they will survive.

Yes ,on a machine barely capable of outdoing the PS2 and Cube and worse in all the senses to the Xbox 1(online ,graphics ,etc).Thats a  problemn in itself.

One more thing ....better technology gives better playability in most occasions. You can play with the phisics ,the lighting ,the depth of the world ,the storytelling ...to give a better playability.Thats why COD4 is better that DoomII for example, and why FFX on the PS2 is today a better game that FFII on the Nes.Not to mention multiplayer online features that add to the longevity of the game etc.

Still, I can´t see how the Wii is making the games worse, or more superficial and shallow...

All I see is devs making bad games (this kind of games have been always there on any console)...
