Forums - Gaming - I am truly annoyed at the wii

I hate the wii too. I owned one and sold it weeks later. The games suck and the motions are repetitive.

And why is it people are so defensive about their system? Can I not share an honest feeling without people getting their panties in a wad?

If you dont want to discuss the topic, then don't.

this kind of thread pops up ones every few months so people are tired of hearing this.

Wii/Mario Kart Wii Code:2793-0686-5434

Sure, feel free to be sad. Though you may want to also feel a bit of indignation towards the developers of those games for overshooting the market so badly to the point that intervention was necessary. Keep in mind the price paid for the ever-increasing production values of cinematic games along with their ever-decreasing success, and learn from it. If what you love gets to be too much to handle, for whatever reason, it's time to let it go. It's hard to do that sometimes, but there's nothing out there saying life is always easy.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

If you love core / hardcore games like the GTA, Oblivion, Gears of Wars and stuff, the WII ain't really your thing. I'm saying this for a long time. IMO, the WII is officially a console for the younger, unexperienced gamers and gamers who like to play casual games. Developers are giving an answer about that. Ubisoft producing Raving Rabbids 3 and Baby crap game on the WII, while on the PS3 you have the Prince of Persia and Beyond Good and Evil. I'm not saying the WII doesn't have core games or won't get them, but when they do, or they sell bad, or they're from Nintendo and sell great as the franchise is already known by the Nintendo public (Mario, Zelda). Therefore WII has become less favorite to me and is no longer my favorite console, Playstation 3 is, like the PS2 was over the GC, like PS was over my N64. I don't bother at all that there are casual games being produced. Good for the market, good to get more people into the gaming, but with only a few exceptions, it ain't really my style. I really do like the style of the WII and the idea from the beginning, concerning the console, with using controllers on a complete different way, but the way its turning out to be for... I like a lot less.

no i think you are right sky render. it seems like the cost of making games is sky rocketing out of control expecially on the 'hd' consoles...

Bye bye, we'll miss you. Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

If the Wii is not giving you the experience you want, sell it, make some money on it and move on. There are two other consoles that will welcome you and they are free of Mario and any games that are new and different.

The 26,689,999 of us that are left will soldier on somehow.

 I was going to say:

*waves goodbye*

Have fun with your new hobbies!

But you always steal what I'm going to say!

Maybe I'm being overly mean here, but it's just too fun to not be! Truly though, real big-budget gaming has probably not peaked yet, but I don't think we're all that far from it. Just like with movies, nowadays a single failed game can kill a developer. Two in a row is a disaster of epic proportions. This is a reason why the market is ready for disruption. Upmarketgames of today will most likely not disappear, but change shape. If you don't like the shape it takes (it will most likely be heavily influenced by the wii) you will quit the gaming scene, and that will be that. There will be new hardcore gamers willing to take your position.

@sc94957 I have been playing mario for oh what is it now...20 years? is that possible? I remember getting my first nintendo system, and mario was great, but i am tired of mario.

Zelda still holds my interests, but no, no more playing as a little plumber anymore for me.

I am not saying my dollar is more valuable, but can i be sad that the types of games i enjoy might disapear?
And whats wrong with playing as the same character again? It's not like its the same game.

I hope this thread doesn't  make any more room for wii bashing posts like this.

Now a casual game.

What large budget third party hardcore games did the wii get to support your "3rd party hardcore games don't sel" view.
